Pump It Up 2015 [Prime]
Hey, has anyone else had a lot of experience playing the new PIU Prime game? We just got one in our state and I have a question about the USB support.
What size should one use? I've seen that if it's over 8GB, it probably won't work. I also know that I need to have it formatted to FAT32 (which is standard anyway). And then, I've made a username/profile on the PIU official site and there's a "download" button which downloads a file called "prime.bin." Is that what I'm supposed to transfer to the USB and it'll load my profile on the machine? Or what am I supposed to be doing to track my progress. Unfortunately, the machine is "offline" but I think I'd still be able to use USB support instead of that to keep track. |

Yeah I play PIU prime a lot, so I should be able to answer these questions.
First of all if your machine says offline, then usb's wont work at all. All you're really doing is storing a passcode on your usb so that it can then access it's servers to find your account, so if it's offline you're not gonna get anywhere. If your machine does come online, which I hope it will, then here's the answers to your other questions The type of USB hasn't particularly mattered for me, and neither has size. Ive used a 32 GB USB and it's still functioned fine, so that's probably not a problem. I usually use sandisks and those always work, so you can go with that if your not sure your brand will work. I've seen lots of other brands work though so your probably fine. As for prime.bin, yeah that's exactly right. Just move that to your USB, and don't put it in any folders in the USB, and you should be good to go. Make sure if you download it more than once that the file is always labeled prime.bin, not prime(1).bin or something. Anyways hope that helps, if you can't get online it's not so bad, there's quite a few good songs on there. You'll never have to hear people spam bad apple, so that might be good, or bad I suppose depending on what you like haha

Re: Pump It Up 2015 [Prime]
You wouldn't by any chance know of a manual or way to get into the service menu without opening the machine would you? I would totally try to get it online myself as I don't think that the location cares (it's a bowling alley and nearly every other game is a ticket game). That stinks, when I plug my USB in, it shows that there's activity so I know it's powered and not completely disabled but I didn't think that it HAD to be online
The location of the unit is about an hour and a half away too which isn't so bad. I'd gladly drive down for the day JUST to play it but not if I'm not going to be able to get the full experience that I'm looking for and have to enter that stupid code every time to get the Full Mode..... *sigh* Thanks for clarifying some of that up! I wouldn't know of a way to get into the machine manually to be honest, I've never had to. You could try talking to the managers of the bowling alley and seeing what they can do, you could just get them to plug an ethernet cable into it and see if that works or something.
Yeah it kinda does suck that you can only use usb's online now, especially since the servers aren't great and go down from time to time. If you can get the machine online once you can get all the music from the patches on there, so you won't need to go online again except for the very newest songs, but yeah for someone in your situation it's really not so great And sure, glad I could help. Sorry you can't get online, but there's still some good songs there. Nemesis, rock the house, chinese restaurant, ragnarok, and karyawisata are great songs with really fun charts. I especially recommend nemesis d20 if your good enough for it, but nemesis d12 is great if that's more your skill level. Good luck with the machine, and have fun xD

Been playing pump more than ffr, let's revive this and see if anyone still plays or had played. These are my current stats, I guess I'm more interested in passing hard stuff rather than good scores.
