Mister_Raccoon's PSN Open Challenge Episode 1 (Contest)
Howdy folks.
Name's Mister_Raccoon, no relation, and I'd like to call out anybody playing fighting games over PSN. This weekend (August 15-16) I'm offering up PSN codes for individuals with the fortitude to take me on and win. I'd prefer to play PS4 because I'm a lazy piece of crap and I don't want to bother setting up the PS3 but I'm willing to work with whichever you have. Available Games for the Challenge: Tekken Tag Tournament 2 - PS3 Ultra Street Fighter 4 - PS3/PS4 Guilty Gear XRD - PS4 Mortal Kombat X - PS4 Marvel vs Capcom 2 - PS3 Rules: From this point forward just add me on PSN (say you're from FFR) and state the title you want to play on in a PSN message. I have a homie coming over so I won't be able to check FFR as often for fight requests. 1 entry per person per title. If you lose you can challenge again on a different title... however... Only one prize may be claimed per person. If others are waiting there cannot be two consecutive challenges by the same person. All challenges are best two of three MATCHES, not rounds, regardless of the title picked. No limits on characters or tactics. Prizes: All prizes will come in the form of PSN codes worth $20 each purchased from Amazon. The code will then be messaged to either your PSN or FFR account based on your preference. Delivery guaranteed within 15 minutes of winning a challenge. I'm setting a hard limit of 3 total prizes for this go round because, you know, not trying to burn through my whole paycheck. If this goes well it will be a recurring event each month. Sign in on this thread with your PSN handle and game(s) of choice. My PSN is Mister_Raccoon. Latest Victims: Versus: DDRBaller123 - Tekken Tag 2 - 4W 0L 0D - Even gave him an extra attempt. Last edited by Mister_Raccoon; 08-21-2015 at 10:09 PM.. |

Re: Mister_Raccoon's PSN Open Challenge Episode 1 (Contest)
Holy crap this is super depressing.
I can't even GIVE money away to get people to play fighters. But y'all will invest your time into a predatory money sink posing as a game like P&D. Calling it now: I could wreck the entire FFR community on fighters. And seeing as how I'm unchallenged, I'm declaring myself the reigning, defending, Undisputed FFR Fighting Games Champion. Now excuse me while I go make a forum sig that looks like a championship belt which states exactly that. |

Re: Mister_Raccoon's PSN Open Challenge Episode 1 (Contest)
I thought three $20 prizes was already kind of a lot considering this is the first, and apparently last, time attempting this. Especially as there's no risk on the part of the challenger.
Even at it's lengthiest, probably Tekken Tag 2 (I really like to play around with my opponents in that one), you've made a 10-12 minute investment of time to receive $20 if you win and stand to lose nothing if you fail. So the logical conclusions are either: 1) You don't have the systems or any of the games listed 2) You suck, erm I mean... are not confident with fighters (still not an excuse because you risk nothing on your end) or 3) People would really truly rather play some shitty F2P app.

Luckily, Cassie Cage is a beast. I'd LOVE to play you in TTT2 though. It's the only game on the list that I really need to find challenging players to fight with. I run King/Anyone, Ganryu/Anyone, and Mokujin/Anyone. PM me your PSN if you feel like getting down this weekend. Who knows, you might win one of the prizes!

Also Venom is the only GG character I can use. But I'm damn good with him.

Re: Mister_Raccoon's PSN Open Challenge Episode 1 (Contest)
Don't have PSN, and King is aarrghh worthy haha
Actually I just had issues with Venom as Sol but eventually got him. Once he got his Tension meter filled it was gg that round. On GG I used to main Ky Kiske but grew bored so I went to Slayer and I fell in love. His launch into triple fist combo is deadly and has hit nearly half (around 35-40%) without using Tension for your uppercut or lunge. Currently trying to learn Sol, I remember Order-Sol being a monster but he isn't in #Reload. Sol has mean aerial fillers along with his devastating uppercut and his kick is just brutal.

Re: Mister_Raccoon's PSN Open Challenge Episode 1 (Contest)
Man, Slayer is a pain in the ASS in the right hands. More than any Sol or Ky. Mostly because I don't really see too many of them and most of the ones I do are learning. But once you master timing them feints and nailing them "less is more" high damage combos... I can't touch you.
As for Venom, there isn't a universal strategy he can use to fight the majority of the cast. Some characters are easier to shut down with ball setups, others require a more personal approach, and a few of them are just REALLY bad matchups for him no matter what. Shame you aren't on PSN. Something tells me we'd be good practice for one another.

Challenge accepted.
I don't have SFxT anymore though. Lucky for you too. Julia/Kazuya team was some beast shit. It's like 4am so we'll get our match on later today.

It says your PSN doesn't exist. Gonna have to shoot a FR my way instead.

Good fights man. Shame we had a so-so connection. You are on the other side of the country I guess.
If I could be constructive, learn some low mixups. You're easy to block because I never have to guess when the low is coming. Also... drop one of the two Laws. The only thing worse than using a character everyone knows how to block is to use basically two of that same character.

Re: Mister_Raccoon's PSN Open Challenge Episode 1 (Contest)
IMO Forest > Marshall for a few reasons
Wish I could've seen the Dual-Law combo because Dual-Laws can either be really devastating or pretty simple to deal with. Certain fighters like Heihachi can dispatch any of the Laws pretty easily but against someone like Ogre or even Miguel the Laws will usually win in the right hands. EDIT: I think it was Asuka/Forest that was a really brutal combination or it was another lady fighter. EDIT2: I nearly forgot about the Dan system; I remember reaching 100th Dan for TRUE Tekken God was nearly impossible for the longest time. Still haven't reached TRUE yet but my two main combos are both between 40-50 Dan and then everyone else is roughly in the Red Dan section (20-23 Dan). Fun Fact: There's like just 5 or so players who have the TRUE Tekken God titles and they are literally machines. The most common fighter between the players who hold this title is Devil Jin.
