Re: The FFR Network -- We need YOU!
I'm planning to become an elementary school teacher, so maybe I could help someone else who has questions about teaching. Although I haven't taught any students as a teacher yet, I think that I have a lot of wonderful ideas in-store when I am given the chance to teach others.
In addition, I think I'm fairly good at logic and reasoning, empathizing with other individuals, and playing/understanding how various video games work.

I have been studying pre Veterinary medicine for 3 years, (still have a billion years of schooling ahead of me though) and have worked as a Veterinary technician since I was 16. If you need someone to pick up your pet's poo, I'm your man.

Re: The FFR Network -- We need YOU!
Close to graduating on Computer Engineer so general CS stuff and somewhat advanced knowledge on parallelism, image processing and machine learning as I'm involved in research on these topics. I can specifically help with C/C++, ARM, android programming (mostly with NDK) and stuff related to the linux kernel.
And I'm Brazilian, so I can help with Portuguese and answer general stuff about Brazil. Other than that, I'm always up for quality conversations, and by quality I mean anything from random crap to talking about real life issues. |

Re: The FFR Network -- We need YOU!
Pianist for 10 years. Strength lies in aural recognition (absolute pitch - can recognize any note and chord being played out as long as the keys are audible enough). Able to transcribe virtually anything for piano if I really try (right now I'm just lazy lol). Done a bit of MIDI work for the VGMusic archive - shame none of them got into the archive and are currently stuck in limbo in the "New MIDIs" section.
Doing Grade 6 AMEB practical at the moment. If I didn't stop taking exams for 5 years after 2009, I'd probably be doing LMus instead...

Japanese. Grammar, vocab, colloquial Japanese, stuff like that. Also can help with translation to and from English, Japanese, and Korean. ^^;
Oh yeah, I'm currently an undergrad planning to major in economics, so I might be able to help out there as well. Nothing too advanced, though.

I've done some community development, but for use of this I can't think of anything specifically I could be used for?

Re: The FFR Network -- We need YOU!
Not quite sure what I can add to the group.
I have a bachelors in accounting and a masters in management. However, I didn't retain any of that knowledge very well. :P I work as an accounting clerk. So I guess I could provoide some tips on Oracle or ReconNET, if anyone uses those. :P I know a few tricks in Excel, as well. Other than that, I'm always available as someone to talk to about problems. I might not always have good advice or any advice, but I'm there. |

Re: The FFR Network -- We need YOU!
I'm starting to realize that I'm jack of all trades. Well, maybe not all trades, but I do know how to do a lot of pretty useful things, heh.
I'm a respectable writer and have a lot of confidence in the process of proofreading. I'll proofread documents for you and note redundancies, structural issues, grammatical issues, issues with brevity, etc. I also do have an acceptable musical ear -- I don't have perfect pitch, but I do a few years of music theory. I'll also dabble in any music genre that I'm in the mood for at a given time inside of FL studio. I've spent time working on a decent wobble bass in FL Studio, and I've spent time composing an orchestral score in FL Studio as well. I can read treble clef based sheet music, but it is a challenge for me to transcribe because I don't have perfect pitch. Currently in studying the field of IT; I have some knowledge of SQL databasing (more specifically T-SQL but most of the changes between things like T/MY/PL SQL are just minor syntactical things). I also am alright at programming in various languages despite constantly considering myself shitty at it (the fact of the matter is that I just lack the motivation to start a cohesive projects). I also have a basic knowledge of networking structures (topologies, WANs/LANs/VLANs, authentication infrastructures like Kerberos/RADIUS, etc), although most of this is through reading and very little of it is with actual materials. I need to get some CISCO products to play with, and a VM with some of these special bits of software. Despite my issues on FFR, which are due mostly to a lack of motivation and disinterest, I am also a generally strong project manager. My effectiveness is most noticed when I am actually the co-manager of a project, because I generally can push people to get things done better than getting things aggressively done on my own. Also, if life ever brings you guys in the dumps, I'm generally a good person to talk to. I like to motivate people into better situations and I'm a rational person who likes to observe things from multiple viewpoints. EDIT: I'm also a well rounded stepartist for both pad and keyboard if anyone ever has questions, lol Last edited by TC_Halogen; 07-17-2014 at 11:41 AM.. |

Re: The FFR Network -- We need YOU!
Guess I'll throw my stuff in here:
Bachelors degree in Comp. Sci (Software Engineering) Many years of web development experience (4+ professional), currently working as a full time developer for a relatively small firm. Some moderate freelance graphics experience (my stepmania graphics aren't very good but I think I'm decent at web design stuff). Then there's the whole simfile/yolomania thing. I also have some experience in stepmania theme customization and noteskin creation. |

Currently in my last year in university for mathematics. This Fall, I'll be TAing calc I. So If anyone does need any help with high school math or 1st year math (calc I, calc II, linear algebra and whatever), I'll be happy to help you out.
I have a DDR machine with ITG on it, so if you do live near me, just give me a message and I'll be happy to let you play on it lulz, it'll also give me some motivation to play since I rarely play. ~

Re: The FFR Network -- We need YOU!
This sounds like it could be fun, simply by the amount of stuff we have to offer here.
Here is a high level rundown of my internet life. http://adambryant.ca/about/ - So I have profuse experience in community management, if no formal training. - I'm a musician, I used to play Piano and Saxophone a lot. Additionally, I've created music. - I'm confident in my writing skills--mostly for fiction, but I have experience with essays as well. - I'm an audiophile and have high standards for music quality, yet have a very wide range of tastes in genres and styles. (pic) - Programmer. I'm pretty good at that stuff with weird symbols that make things happen. - I'm ok at FFR one handed? c: Dunno what else to add. I could help program tool back-ends for content and help distribution if that is in the plan. I can also host a Trello for this, as I host the other two FFR Trello pages at the moment.
