I don't think this is an issue

since after time skip, byleth effectively becomes an equal, especially when you consider students have advanced lessons they can teach byleth if their rank in a particular skill is higher. also, assuming byleth was born around the time of the great fire, byleth would only be a few years the elder of most students

It's about authority, not age.

It would still be considered improper for a professor to marry one of their students, even if the student is a few years older than they are.

whether or not you consider Byleth to still be a professor or not after the Empire's Declaration of War is a matter of perspective.

Yeah it's not even my opinion, but it's a fairly large, understandable opinion imo.

I dont really think of byleth as a professor after the time skip

Based off of the date on your mother's grave vs the year it is in-game, Byleth is 21 (22 depending on your birthday). While you are older than all students, save for Mercedes, it's nowhere near as drastic as thought.

so i let a friendo borrow my switch and when i got it back my save data was gone
idk what happened but i hadn't set up cloud saves so i'm gonna have to replay the game from the ground up
fortunately it's been long enough for the game to feel somewhat fresh again, may start out on hard mode this time
