Going From Your primary computer/laptop to Another computer/laptop
Alright, so, ever were somewhere else and you have that crave to play some SM/FFR when you're not at home?
So you pack your laptop that you don't normally use to play the game so when you have that break period that probably gave yourself you can enjoy some tap-tap-tappity time. But... When you start to play... you realize that suddenly the awesome key tapping skills you possessed on your home computer is no longer with you as fruitlessly try to play with a laptop! This is what's happening to me, and it's a shame because I was kind of hoping this would be the time where I can just kick back and play some more FFR as I wait for my next class if I don't have anything else to do. I'm sure there's a number of players on here that have similar experiences, so if you can, share them because... I really have nothing else to do but post something. And this happens when I play too. I was misplaced in D4. Kidding. |

SM/FFR is mostly comfort.

I don't think it's just keyboard. I can only play SM/FFR at my desk, and the way I sit in my chair can only be done in my own chair. etc.
There's so many different factors someone could possibly rely on for comfortable playing.

Re: Going From Your primary computer/laptop to Another computer/laptop
It's true that comfort is important when playing, but the keyboard is really important too imo. I can't play on my laptop too well due to the fact that the keyboard seems to be registering random goods and misses, but if I hook up my desktop keyboard then I can play just fine, even when I'm sitting in a different place/position than my usual one. That might be just me though lol

Oh don't get me wrong, keyboard is important. I don't think I'd be anywhere if I didn't have my current keyboard. Though it sucks major donkey dick, it's like home to me. Plus it has a broken spacebar, it has character

Re: Going From Your primary computer/laptop to Another computer/laptop
factors that affect your performance:
- operating system (vista vs xp etc.) - keyboard - sitting position - sitting height - space to rest wrists if applicable - traction of the keyboard if applicable - monitor refresh rate - headphones if applicable - peripheral vision - volume - desk stability if applicable most people can't play to the best of their ability unless all of those factors are met personally for me, it's exactly a bunch of those factors as to why I can't play FFR nearly as well as I do SM, rofl

I can't play slim to save my ****ing life. Don't know, but klunky just fits my beast ass fingers better hehe GD summed up everything I was trying to say.
