Default Beatmatching

So trying to become a DJ for my own personal agenda, I've been watching lots of YouTube videos about DJ's and many have said that beatmatching is a very key element to DJing. Taking a song and matching its beat to the song the crowd is listening to is supposed to be a very basic DJing skill. I don't know much about DJing but anyone out there willing to give me free tips?

btw I'm using a Pioneer WeGo2 with an iPad using Algorithms $20 Djing app. I'm supposed to be learning to beatmatch, but when the app shows the bpm AND the waveforms, it makes it REALLY difficult to learn when all I need to do is look down and see the answer. I look down too often to see both of these things, I wish there was a way on this app to take away both the waveform and the bpm readout.

Well i've been DJing for many years now and i'd say it comes down to practice. Start with something simple like Big Room house and watch the wave forms, listen to the music and get a feel for it and then it comes down to practice. My advice probably sounds like shit but i'm self taught and have DJ'ed dozens of parties now and have been getting paid for it.

This is probably a bad example given it was done many months ago, but this was my latest mix i uploaded to youtube before i went MIA

I'd say learn what you can, then ask questions for the things you can't figure out too easily after a few good practice sessions.

practice practice.
and by practice i mean just mess around with stuff till you kinda know what it does.
