well, not knowing the maps. i spend forever trying to find monsters and stuff my level to kill.. also everytime i get too far away from a main town i usually get my ass kicked by a huge group of monsters and could use some help fighting them off and such.

Alright, I do have a couple of websites that lots of WoW players find pretty helpful.
Thottbot.com-This has info on about anything ingame you can imagine. Just search.
curse.com-this is used for UI modifier downloads. One you might look into is a Coordinate UI, because on thottbot, lots of people post coordinates in the comment boxes, which can be used to find whatever you might need in game.

generally level 10's would want to finish all the quests in the starting zones, and then depending on the race, move to the next zone to start questing and leveling there.
EDIT: Here's the link for a coordinate addon (http://downloads.curse.com/details/618/). Open and extract to C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons. Kinda like putting songs on stepmania.

Also, what race are you?

lol just go to a private server and have some for for free XP thats what i do and i can explore all the high level classes without training 1 from 1 - 70

*edit* and then you can see some areas for you to train your character on real wow >.<

Not alot of people know how to set those up, and I'd say it's worth it to play through the game to 70 rather than have it automatically done. However, private servers can be fun for exploring unreleased zones and whatnot, although there are many risks involved.

heh. 2 weeks to 49 isn't bad. Does your friend have a 70 as well? cause that's just ungodly fast leveling if it's their first character.

There's a few leveling guides for Horde out there, and really all you need is thottbot. On my 70 warlock, I used to and still do just pick up a bunch of quests, start at the top, alt tab, thottbot them, use the thottbot map to find quest objectives, then do them, rinse, and repeat. Thottbot really is your best friend. Someone actually making a character and helping you would probably end in it taking longer to level due to waiting/afks as well as experience splitting and having to get twice as many items, which is annoying especially once you get to having to get 20 or so items per quest.

Yeah, thottbot really is the encyclopedia of EVERYTHING WoW-wise. I use it when my map mods don't show instance loot when they're not working. Thott is just useful like that.

And on the ridiculus amount of quest items: Especially chain quests when the items won't drop for your party member...
