Ben was the co-founder of Team Blaze, and Richie (Zek) stepped down in light of recent events. Ben is the owner. He and Zek did start it.

It's me (justin_ator), Ben, and Zak. Middie isn't modding for the team anymore, just kinda helping keep the spreadsheet up to date. Most of the posts will be by me I would assume, but if it's a spon con it's probably written by Ben, as was the original OP.

I'm a little tired of the leaders of this team trying to say who can and can't join the team. There's a lot of assumptions being thrown around that certain teams are -competitive-, and the fact that you have both Team Pony and Team Indeed is kinda silly to me. Team Indeed barely has any forum activity, and their opening/original post states that they are looking for those who are serious with rhythm gaming. They even have an entry requirement to be on the team that some D4 players won't even be able to make, and TB has many other users, which wouldn't make much of a "team" competition.

As far as Team Pony, there's always been an implied rivalry against Team Blaze, but it's never been serious enough to the point of denying users from other teams to come in. Team Pony is dedicated more toward being a fun hangout, rather than a tight-knit team. To me, it just seems like you're forcefully dictating things to keep a small and specific group that will adhere to your overly specific requirements.

I normally won't make a post like this if I'm not involved, but this is a bone I've had to pick with Team Blaze for a little while now, above other things.

EDIT: also the whole having to deal with Pony avatars/signatures might be a problem with you, but people have to deal with the large Team Blaze signatures in all of your members' signature areas, and likewise as Kayla said, we can disable them but we choose not to. It goes both ways since we're both representing our miniature communities/interests.

I'm fine with loosening restrictions, giving everyone a chance. Trolls can always be banned later, but everyone deserves a shot, if not two.

While we may drop the can't be a member of x team for joining, we're still going to limit things like the skype chat to team members only (with very few exceptions).

Eh, was more expressing my distaste for the thought of pony-related talk in the TB skype chat than a distaste for forum graphics. I know what you and Kayla are saying though, and it was merely my feelings. Not tb as a whole.

I'm not fond of all the pony talk / fandom ect, but I see no reason to discriminate them because of their interests. That would be like kicking me out for liking the Miku vocaloid as much as I do. It's only a few people in Team Pony that have acted that way, and I feel that those people don't represent all of Team Pony as a whole, so it's not the reason why I'm not allowing dual memberships. And I don't mind conversation about any topic in the skype chat, everyone is going to feel out-of-place when it comes to one topic or another. The chat is rather lively at moments though and it's really easy to be discussing a plethora of topics and things at once. I have nothing against League, I actually play it myself, although I only play casually from time to time and many other members of the team also play League. As for the topic of ponies, I personally don't mind it at all, we've "discussed" about ponies before. The team does have a handful of anti-bronies, but they don't represent the team as a whole. The disallowing of dual memberships with TP has nothing to do with the fact that you guys like ponies.

I already talked about the topic of ponies; that's just Justin's personal opinion/issue and his opinion doesn't represent the team as a whole.

As for Team Indeed, we wouldn't be able to accept members that are also on TI anyways because they have a strict policy that you can not be on another team when you join.

Secondly, you act like we have super specific entry requirements. Basically, it says, "don't be on another team" which seems rather reasonable. We've tried to make our team as inclusive as possible by not discriminating against skill, GT, member length, etc; but I feel like the concept of a team loses it's meaning when it becomes 100% inclusive, there has to be some exclusivity. Team boundaries would just melt away if every single team became 100% inclusive; every team would just turn to multiple instances of "Team FFR" since many people would feel inclined to join all the teams they can.

As for Team Pony, I have to say that you guys are doing a great job. You've been keeping your members interested with events and such and it seems like a lot of you guys are really dedicated to the team and it's interests. Not to mention I love seeing the way you guys support one another in tournaments and other events. Now even if you guys weren't really competitive with us, I'd still like to see a organized and dedicated team hard at work, and I feel that allowing dual memberships with Team Pony would mitigate the level of dedication each member gives to their respective team(s). I believe in the thought that it's always better to put in a lot of quality effort into a few things, as opposed to putting in zero to a minimal amount of effort into many things.

As you can see, I'm not just worried for the Team itself, but to the whole existence of teams as a whole on FFR. I find them to be an interesting aspect to make the FFR experience more interesting and enjoyable and it would upset me if we lost that aspect.

Now I know that it may seem unfair that we are allowing members to join Team Pokemon and Debbie Downers as well. That came from my personal opinions on which teams were "competitive" or not and I realize that it may be a little silly for me to be able to make that judgement since it is rather subjective. I am considering allowing dual memberships for all teams. If I decide to let it happen, I'll let it run for month or so and at the end of the month, I'll do a re-evaluation of my thoughts on dual memberships. I'm just trying to be fair as I possibly can here so give me a chance to try to work things out with you guys, it's not my intentions to have any negative grudges between any of the teams.

just saw this, sorry for not replying sooner. I'm very indecisive and coming up with an arbitrary number for a ban length is super difficult for me to do. I've decided that your ban will last until the end of the month, so you'll be unbanned at the start of Sept 1st. If this seems long, I'm sorry, it's my attempt to assign the right amount of consequences to the action. If to others in the team, this seems too short, I'm sorry, banning someone even for a day tears me apart on the inside and it's not my intention to get revenge through the means of team bans, I believe the ban period I assigned is more than enough to have Richie reflect upon his actions.

What the avatars for the tournament? lol That has nothing to do with the team overall, it was just little motivational stuff for the official.
