Xiao's Solo Beginner Pack
(more like minipack but whatever)
Cross-posted from ODI Straight from the readme: As a solo enthusiast, I felt it was a shame nobody played solo. This is likely a result of the extremely steep difficulty curve; there are very very few easier files to bell the curve for new (or inexperienced) players. I then set out to make a pack of a few files to act as a starting point for these new players, so they may grasp the basics of solo to start enjoying those harder files. 8 files, 3 difficulties each. You can figure out how the difficulty ratings work or read the readme. Files don't exceed BCMP 11-12ish in difficulty. A Geisha's Dream // SMiLE.dk from DDR X : 3/4/11 Chocolate Disco // Perfume 1/4/10 Coloris // SHE 2/8/10 Cross Time // Brandy from O2Jam : 2/8/11 Lune Noir // Sonitus Vir feat. Emily Smith from Mungyodance 3 : 6/9/12 Saber Wing // TAG from DDR X : 3/8/12 Star Field // SADA (re-release) from Beatmania IIDX 9th Style : 4/7/10 Trigger // sonic-coll. from DDR X : 5/7/11 Try to enjoy.

Re: Xiao's Solo Beginner Pack
Interesting, might try it out. I know this has probably been asked multiple times but link to a guide about solo, how to do it (setting it up) and all that?

Re: Xiao's Solo Beginner Pack
Stargroup's guide is about as close to a solo guide as there is, right now.
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=95699 Note that some themes don't enable you to play solo; if you use the default or those that do though, it shouldn't be a problem. Other than that, three fingers on each hand is about all you need to know. Left hand takes L/UL/D, right takes U/UR/R. I also recommend using a bar (or at least non-arrow) skin. There are a few floating around, like Notebar, Revbar, Notebar++, Metalbar, etc.

Re: Xiao's Solo Beginner Pack
Getting this because I suck at solo and because Lune Noir :V
Question though: did you use the normal version of Lune Noir or the faster EX version of it? lol |

Ohhh....very nice. This will be perfect to get started on solo myself. Been talking to some ppl about starting, but found myself a bit....lacking in the harder songs. D=
And does the o2jam noteskins work like how you described?

Re: Xiao's Solo Beginner Pack
Hey, sick stuff. I was trying to get into solo like a week ago, and there really just aren't any good files to learn how to play solo with. I made one of my own, but that's pretty gay learning from your own files :P
I'm downloading this. Thanks.

Re: Xiao's Solo Beginner Pack
I just love this selection of music, even though it's really only a few songs. I especially love Cross Time. And no, it doesn't have anything to do with the background. xDDD Well....mostly. ;D
The difficulty of these songs is just perfect, tho, for trying to get started. And they are actually harder than a lot of the DDR Solo steps made by Konami. rofl
