If you're talking about CoE versus Broken Promises, I hear it's like 30% better to go CoE. At least that's what DatModz has been saying, and I trust his opinion on Monk-related topics.

30% isn't bad.

I wanted to make sure since you have to take a hit in toughness to pull it off, but I might try it. I'll need to hit a bit harder if I'm going to move up much more, though 62 looks pretty straight forward right now with a decent rift.

The rest is probably paragon. It seems to make more of a difference than I'd like it to. It can definitely help you push higher when it comes down to it.

CoE is beating out BP on the leaderboards or whatever. They're both apparently pretty similar in strength though. Can push either really high.

Here's an annoying shot of my only non-ancient piece of gear. Gonna be hard to replace but i'm gonna have to

The dilemma of doom.

999 vit or 9% CDR?

Hardcore Seasonal Monk

I'll assume 9% CDR as the 999vit can on super long term be gained by paragons..

Isn't CDR also a very valuable survival stat anyway?

Yeah, but I have like 60% CDR + gogok + epiphany. I'm just trying to avoid getting one shotted in some higher grift because I'm not completely sure of toughness benchmarks in details. I know that top leaderboard players would pick 1000 vit over 10% dmg, but I didn't find anything about 1000 vit vs 10% CDR which seems to also have diminishing returns on CDR @ 9% give me 4% CDR in details.

Yet, I've seen people using some amulet that gives you an extra life and destroy itself if you die. I'm using near death experience passive, but I'm trying to find the safest way to approach this. I have like 650k hp and with 80% dmg reduce armor/all ress. Some elites in T10 managed to hit me for 600k dmg. I do have near death experience, but this feel risky if I'm not careful.

What did you roll off of the LC in the first place?

Dunno how much hp you have w/o the vit so it's hard to say which is better, but the best and unfortunate answer is to find a better LC with both.

I'm upset with how brutally simplistic the game is.

The hardest challenge is rng'ing the right drops.

Might make a DH but work is pretty busy right now.

Might wait and get powerleveled.

Any news on how each class is doing this patch?

patch looked pretty great when I looked at it a few months ago or whenever it was announced
I'd play but I'm running just linux and I don't have enough incentive to dualboot

Made a wizard and got to Paragon 69 tonight. Every class is good except Monks have very little, if any use in groups aside from speed farming T10 rifts.

And for when you get to 70 and want set pieces:

My DH is doin' pretty good.

Got to Paragon 400ish last night. Rolled a handful of hellfire amulets, and am managing ~2:00 T8 rifts right now. Pretty quick start for me I think considering I didn't group too much.

DH is great this season. Not having any toughness issues, since 100% uptime on vengeance with the new helmet that gives it Dark Heart essentially doubles it. Plan is basically to get enough good gear to farm T10, then start working on an impale build for group play, or maybe a marauder build for pushing higher GRs.

I'm at P437 right now. Was able to get solo g rift 66 without high level gems and suboptimal gear. T10 is a joke though. The average rift takes like 4 minutes with my gear.

Yeah, power creep is real. T10 takes me about 3 minutes also with almost no ancients, level 25 gems. Haven't tried pushing GRs yet but 55 is free, about 5 minutes with an average map.
