Despite the way he is saying it he is right though. These games depend on delicate balance and people need to understand that and act in ways that don't needlessly disrupt the balance. If a player doesn't understand basic game mechanics during their third game I'm not sure they're the type of person that should be playing TWG, anyway...

I completely understand this point, but the context of what was posted here and the context of the games are two different things. I'm not banning j-rodd for what was said in any of the TWG games however harsh they may be (not that I condone this at ALL), but rather for derailing an actual discussion in here with ridiculous flaming and trolling. There is a difference in how j-rodd brought his point, and how YOU brought the same exact point (which was a lot more acceptable).

First game I barely got to play because of a misunderstanding which most players agreed was something that was easy for a new player to misunderstand.
This game it was the SK that messed with me because I didn't completely understand the role. This wasn't in the previous two games I played. I don't see how that's "basic game mechanics" But whatever, you've all made your point and I wont join anymore ffs.

Anyway I agree with the ideas for Penalties that are in the OP, nothing new to add

Penalties on the OP seem perfectly acceptable. The infraction on Snowcrafta is a bit of a fine line that would be up to Xiz/Manticore given that he was banned throughout most the game...

They really should correlate, but it's contestable.

EDIT: rather, the point that I'm trying to make is whether or not you should infract users for being replaced in situations like Snowcrafta where you receive a short ban and then cannot post because of said ban

not sure if I agree with handing out a permaban after 4 minor infractions in a span of up to 31 total games. seems way too steep.

Sort of agree, I think it should just keep adding on. Perma-banning seems kind of intense now that you mentioned it like that.

I personally think that it's fine, given that it would take the player willingly infracting themselves on three separate occasions beforehand. If a player is willing to break their commitment multiple times to a TWG game, they probably shouldn't play at all.

the jump just seems really high to me. a 3 game ban takes roughly a month, and then the next rung of the ladder is perma.

resetting after 10 games without incident could also be lowered imo. 10 games is a lot of games.

I feel that it could be lowered as well. I dont want to say 5 games that playerA participated in, but a fewer games would be nice. Like 5.

If we're running them 2 at a time like this then it's a lot faster.

I don't have anything against Snowc, but if we're giving Kayla an infraction for her request to be replaced (even though she was active) we should give one to Snowc. His behavior was ovbiously not forum acceptable elsewhere, and because of this his role was unreadable untill danceguy subbed in.

Negative impact there too, just on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Honestly I felt that 4 was a nice number to have. If someone really wanted to be perma'd, you have to actually try.

get replaced once -> play 9 games with no problem -> get replaced -> play 9 games -> get replaced -> play 9 games -> get replaced

would be grounds for a permaban? I know that's a fantasy but still lol

oh if you count every game when we run 2 at a time that's a lot quicker though. I still think permaban is harsh.
