Hell no.
I did explain this to you before, but here it goes again.

I just grinded up enough Conquest to buy my chest. It took me a month of wiping and progressing on content to finally get to that point.

Now some 13 year old ****** can run Violet Hold a few times and get it.

So a random dumbass can get one piece of the gear you have, and eventually 2, with dozens of runs through Heroics.

They still aren't going to have experience, skill, or the rest of the gear necessary to run the dungeon. And who's gonna take them anyway?

Also, Midsummer sucks. I was originally planning on doing it on all of my alts, but now I dread just doing it once. We got Kalimdor done. It took 3 hours with Crusader Aura. The route was perfectly planned out in advance, too (someone else's diagram BUT STILL).

Gear is my reward for doing hard things. You can't do the hard things? Then you shouldn't get the gear.

But they're NOT getting the gear. They're getting two pieces from a list of more than a dozen.

Why does it concern you so much? They get the gear, then what? Their 1,300 spellpower suddenly rocks your world? No. Maybe their fail guild will actually start running raids, but who cares? They're never going to be competing with you for loot. These people who only do Heroics are not going to be doing anything anywhere near any of us, so let them have their piddly fun.

They're not going to be running around Dalaran on Rusted Proto Drakes carrying Starshard Edges. They're going to be running around in blues, greens, and two seemingly out of place tier 8.5 pieces. Nobody will invite them to raids, still.

The only apprehension anyone should feel about this is that these people are getting certain rewards that you put a little bit of effort into for a little bit less effort (and don't bull**** me, getting Conquest emblems isn't even remotely difficult).

If Blizzard said "hey we're just gonna put every piece of gear that Ulduar drops in an Emblem Vendor", then I'd be mad because it's just a foolish design choice. All they're doing is bridging the gap between new 80s and current raiders so that you can take friends along without too much of a hassle.

Okay squeek.

How much gear do you think you'll have from conquest before 3.2 and after it eh?

And don't pull that I DO 10 MANS CUZ I GOT FRIENDS IN A GUILD AND STUFF.

Because 10 man ulduar is only barely harder than 25 naxx, thus my point of "getting a **** ton of conquest badges isn't easy right now" remains.

I do 10 mans because I can't do 25s. There just aren't enough people who are good enough to do Uld25.

With basically just going to Emalon, doing some hard-modes in 10, and doing as much of Uld25 in a pug as possible, I have enough to buy one tier piece currently.

I'm comparing this to how hard it was to get Valor, by the way. Back then, it was Naxx25, Vault25, Sarth25, EoE25. Which, for me, meant Vault and Sarth, so 6 emblems a week. Now that you can get Conquest from 10-mans in addition to pugging Flame Leviathan (even pugs can leave towers up) and Emalon each week, you can get more than a dozen a week.

I've told you before though that I have no other gear I can get from Conquest, so I'm already halfway done with Conquest gear.

Also, there's no need to insult Uld10 raiders. It's not easy. Especially not as easy as Naxx25. Maybe it's easy for a guild pulling 6k DPS per person, but then again, what isn't hard for that kind of a guild?

Yay got one of the three pieces of uld25 loot I can use today.

More importantly, I got Less-Rabi right afterwards =D

Anyway, Midsummer randomly reset and bugged all my quest progress. I was like 2100/3000 for The Seeker and now I'm at 1,950. Somehow I fell below 2,000 Quests Completed, which I finished long before Midsummer even began. Kinda annoyed.

During Hodir:

"Oh damn, we'd better say it in Asian so that Efij understands. QUICK EFIJ! IT FRASH FREEZE! YOU GO SNOW NOW!"

DPS charts from VOA PUG:

#1. Niiko (6553, 10.7%)
#2. Eshock (4305, 7.0%)
#3. Zealol (3765, 6.2%)

Ten minutes after leaving on the sixth wipe, four people whispered me begging me to come back.

So the Tier 9 pieces are out.

Reactions for mine.

First: HOLY **** LOOK AT ALL THAT HIT

Second: What the crap is up with that set bonus? Why does the Shaman set bonus always have impossibly cryptic wording at first?

"2P Bonus -- Increases the duration of your Flame Shock spell by 61 sec.
4P Bonus -- Increases the damage done by your Lava Burst spell by 0.021 sec. "

Even if you flip them and assume it's something like 1 second on Flame Shock and 61 damage to Lava Burst, the combined DPS increase of these two abilities is lower than the DPS increase of a single set bonus from Tier 8. It's pretty sad. Tier 8 was a huge, huge step in the right direction when compared to Tier 7 (5% cheaper spells! Yes!! Now I can not go out of mana even better! (No seriously, our skills cost 300 mana each. We're not running out of mana, ever, especially with a passive 500 mp5 and the ability to re-generate 8% of our mana every 45 seconds for free. There's a reason we don't like mp5--it's completely worthless. We never go OOM.))

Edit: Someone mentioned that it's 6 seconds added onto Flame Shock and 20% damage to Lava Burst. Both of which are pretty terrible. 6 seconds onto Flame Shock messes up our rotation. It's currently 12+6(glyphed), so your 8s cooldown doesn't come close to the 18s dot and you don't ever risk having the dot expire right as the 8s cooldown is ready to go. 12+6+6 at 24 seconds means you will always miss the last shot and need to restart, which is a DPS loss. Lava Burst needs to go off every time it has cooled down or you lose a lot of DPS. The 20% on Lava Burst is nice, but the increased damage comes every 8 seconds and it's not enough to justify losing the tier 8 bonus. ~1,600-2,400 more damage every 8 seconds (t9) versus ~1,800-3,200 more damage every 8 seconds (t8) is what it amounts to. No thanks. And considering the first set bonus isn't really a DPS upgrade at all, but a convenience one, I'll still with the ~6% dps upgrade from tier 8, thanks.

The relic is out too, and it sucks. The current one (Naxx25) increases the base damage of our most damaging skill. The Ulduar relic increases the base damage of our 8s cooldown skill, which is helpful but not really. I'd rather increase the base damage of the strongest skill than to try to equalize them. The new relic increases haste by 200 for 12 seconds on a proc chance that probably has an internal cooldown. If it doesn't, then it's better. But I guarantee it does.

The new emblem loot is out, and once again, they forgot Elemental Shaman. WE DO NOT WANT MP5. GIVE US OUR OWN SET OF GEAR GODDAMMIT. EVERY OTHER SPEC HAS GEAR FOR IT FROM EMBLEMS.

Ok and then we get to this:

# Elemental Oath now affects non-periodic spell critical strikes.
# Elemental Focus now affects non periodic critical strikes.
# Elemental Devastation now affects non-periodic offensive spell crits.

So... they now affect non-dot crits. Well, up until Tier 8, we didn't HAVE any dot crits. So were they just not working at all, or does Blizzard fail at English? My vote is on the latter.

Looking around the rest of the data, it seems the only other class that hasn't gotten love is Warlocks. They also have that odd 0.002sec spell power increase. Everybody else is just peachy. And that annoys me. It's always the goddamn elemental shaman.

ps - yes i know it was datamined but the PTR is up so this gear already exists.

Those are placeholder things for now. Balance druids have a .0021sec increase in damage on something, too. (I think)

More importantly, though, resto druid set bonuses.

+5% Nourish crit chance? I like
Rejuv has the chance to crit on periodic heals? OMG YES.

The idol for resto is amazing as well, chance to proc a ton of spell power on rejuv ticks. Hot.
