Started looking at this page only to realize that I don't really know any of these people and it means nothing to me.

Was surprised to see how low of a vocabulary Shakespeare's writing had. I guess I can see why he always made up words.

All I saw was around 5100 words on that scale. That seems low to me.

They looked at only the first 35000 words of each person, so that people who had written more (who would by definition just end up using more different words) could be ranked against newer people who hadn't written much.

His vocabulary was "around the same as most rappers" from his first 35,000 words as from theirs, but the complete works of shakespeare are hundreds of thousands of words long.
