Building up my YouTube/Twitch set-up
I've been planning on making a set-up for over two years, but never had the fire to get the things I needed. Until recently.
Desktop (bought 6/29) from Micro Center: $599.99 (Reg. $749.99) G151 Desktop Computer; Intel Core i5-7500 Processor 3.40GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB GDDR5; 8GB DDR4-2133 RAM; 1TB 7,200RPM Hard Drive; Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64-bit; 24x DVD±RW Drive; Multi-in-One Memory Card Reader; 10/100/1000 Network; 802.11ac Wireless Monitors (bought 6/25) from Fry's Electronics: 2 for $79 each (Reg. $129, Sale $99, Promo code brought it down $20) High definition picture with 1920x1080 resolution, Slim design with high glossy black finish, Ultra-slim Design, Wide Viewing Angle, 5ms Response Time Keyboard/Mouse Combo (bought 6/25) from Amazon: $22.15 Cooler Master Devastator II - Green LED Gaming Keyboard & Mouse Combo Keyboard & Mouse Mat (bought 6/25) from Amazon: $9.99 Kupx Thick Extended Edition Cloth Gaming Mouse Mat with Non-slip Rubber Base I also bought a 6' long white plastic picnic table from Walmart a few weeks ago for $40. Not spending a ridiculous amount of money and time into a desk I will need to move at least one more time. There are some more things I plan to get. Just waiting on next payday. Thoughts on the selection? |

From what I gather those selections seem a-okay, but I'm not all that tech saavy with computer parts. Someone else will chime in I'm sure.
But what about a camera and mic, is that something you're going to invest in for streaming with good sound and picture? Or do you already have that in place.

I've been looking at the Logitech C920 for the webcam; Audio-Technica stuff for the mic. Still thinking about whether I want to go all-in and get the mix amp. |

You should check out this neat little guide. You don't have to follow it to the letter but it was a good and helpful read

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what specs you use, it matters if you are enjoyable to watch. Be sure to talk, interact with watchers, and be happy and have a good time.
Nobody likes watching someone sit there not reacting.

Re: Building up my YouTube/Twitch set-up
Yeah, it's one of my things that's keeping me on edge if I want to do it or not.
As a streamer, it's pretty much mandatory to interact, or entertain in general. It's one thing watching games, but it's also another when it's paired with some personality to it. The thing is though, if you want to pursue it as a type of career, you'll need A LOT of motivation to entertain, even if you're having a shitty/off/notinthemood day. HOWEVER If this is just something on the side and you wanna just do it as a hobby thing. Your setup is perfect. Still though, don't get discouraged if you see no one join. Just play as long as want, and when you're bored, just end the stream (and let others know you're ending it if there's peeps there).

Re: Building up my YouTube/Twitch set-up
UPDATE: What I have up so far. Nothing has been turned on yet. Excitement inside is brewing.
Going to get a new mic stand for my Sterling Audio ST51 condenser microphone. I got a Logitech C920 webcam (just not set up). |

Re: Building up my YouTube/Twitch set-up
What will you be using as your streaming program?
Also what is your twitch channel?

Re: Building up my YouTube/Twitch set-up
Downloaded it. Looked at it.
Looked at XSplit Gamecaster. I think I will try XSplit Gamecaster first. |
