Welcome to The Avg Bonanza!

Hey everyone, I haven't been playing as much FFR as I used to, and because of that, I thought I'd give back to the community that's given so much to me by hosting a tournament.

This is my first hosted tournament, and I will put 300k of my own credits into the grand prize. Donations are kindly accepted, and I am trying to acheive 1mil credits for the final prizes.

If I don't get enough sign-ups per division, then unfortunately I will not continue hosting this tournament, so sign up people!

Rules:

1.This isn't your average tournament. Hehe, get it. There is a point system per perfect(5), goods(10), averages(20), misses (-10), and boos(-20). The point of this is to try and maintain your accuracy, while only hitting averages. I will total the possible "AAA" score of each song in each division, and post it along with the songs.

2.The rules are quite simple, play as you normally would, except try to ONLY hit averages.

3. A valid screen-shot must be provided, along with your total in points according to my system. If you are caught altering your screen-shot or your total in points, then you are disqualified from the tournament. THIS MEANS YOU NEED TO DO SOME MATH.

4. There will be 5 divisions, and you will be placed according to your skill level in each. I will have myself and others place you in your division, and I will attempt to get it double-checked through a few pro's on the site.

If there are any suggestions on how I could make this tournament better, or changes to my scoring system. Please feel free to let me know.

I was considering it, but couldn't people just use the velocity engine's offset function?

Since this is a tournament, I will not accept screenshots from Velocity's engine because of the offset function. That would just make it easy for everyone.

The Standalone flash player doesn't have an offset function, and I have to use it to reduce lag.

... But maybe lag would help in this case lol

EDIT: I would like to propose that the scores for perfects to be 0, goods to be 5, and averages 25, and to take away the boo penalty (or decrease it at least). Misses are negative 10, and iirc, the timing frames go: perf - good - average - miss. So, saying someone hits the average frame 60% of the time, but misses one frame before and after the window 20% of the time each, the score would be 60*20 + 20*10 - 20*(20+10) = 800. However, if someone hit the last good frame 60% of the time, an average 20% of the time, and the last perf frame 20% of the time for 100 arrows, the score would be 60*10 + 20*20 + 20*5 = 1100. Thus, it would be much better to aim for the last good rather than to aim for averages.

Here is a table showing the current scores and 3 possible changes.

The left half of the table shows tap distribution of a perfect machine hitting the ideal frame 60% of the time and the adjacent frames an equal 20% of the time, and the right half shows the achieved score with the original score system, along with three other score systems. The second score system implements the suggested perfect:0 good:5 average:25 set with the current boo penalty. The third scoring system only removes the boo penalty, and the fourth system combines the two.

The bolded scores should be the greatest in the column, and that is not the case with the current scoring system. The three other systems fixes this problem; it will be up to your preference as to which one best fits the tournament.

If I'm wrong about the timing window then disregard this.

WELL. I propose we do a vote? Because I personally don't mind either way, I just want the community to be pleased and happy with the scoring system.
