Day 3
Chaotic WHITE Musician: DM Ashura Step Artist: DarkZtar Song Genre: Dance 2 Style: Electronic Difficulty: 53 Song Length: 1:55 Spontaneous Contest: Hmmm, we're still on the aversion game, me thinks. See, we definitely weren't fans of the cold. I gave you free reign to avoid as much or as little as you wanted before, but this time, it's not gonna be as easy. Today, we hate chaos. Particularly, those of a white-note variety. Miss all white notes in Chaotic WHITE, and I will give you 5,000 credits. A screenshot is not going to cut it: save a replay and place the link to the replays on the front page post and I will check them to see if you qualified. I won't tell you if you've gotten it or not until the day is over, so you'd better be sure you've got it! Last edited by TC_Halogen; 12-17-2016 at 06:07 PM.. |

Day 4
A Dichroic Glass Snafu Musician: Blitz Lunar Step Artist: Gradiant Song Genre: Arcade Difficulty: 98 Song Length: 2:00 Spontaneous Contest: I'm not feeling particularly creative. I am feeling somewhat generous, though. For every 10 raw score points you get on A Dichroic Glass Snafu, I will give you 1 credit (I'll round up). Got a good? Congrats, you got 3 credits. |

Alright, time for me to step up and be the first user to post in this thread!
For Day 5, does the GT have to be above 0 in order to consider it a pass, or can it be lower than 0 and you can finish the song, and still be a pass? |

Re: FFRMas: Song Release Event
A pass would be simply hitting all arrows in the chart without failing (and without any sort of exploits, either - like 0x, for example).
I'm a bit annoyed about this, because I forgot that R^3 doesn't handle averages properly. This challenge is substantially easier to do on R^3 as a result. Oh well. Last edited by TC_Halogen; 12-18-2016 at 07:10 PM.. |

Would I be correct in saying that Try This is like the Hellhounds On My Trail of VC's?

Re: FFRMas: Song Release Event
Don't we always need hard songs for officials? Seems like we should save some of these up for the next one. If I remember, the last official was delayed for months for hard files. So far, the average release has a difficulty of almost 80. Even high "VCs" are given a green banner. I guess it's just where the community is, but I think it would be fair to encourage a balance of song releases. On a scale of 1-110, these releases' average falls to the top 28% of all difficulties.
I guess it's just what people are stepping, but maybe we need another easy songs batch to help develop more D1-D3 players for the future of the site. Last edited by TheSaxRunner05; 12-19-2016 at 11:55 PM.. Reason: Clarity |

Re: FFRMas: Song Release Event
I moved pulse up to 95 and cold to 100 about half an hour ago, but I'm extremely uncomfortable putting cold any higher than that
glass snafu potentially could be 99 but I definitely don't think it's FSO material just because of those ending transitions (the first 1300 notes are free for mid D7+) @TSR these are files from the hard song batch that have been queued for longer than a year but were not slotted in the last tourney, it's unfair to the simfilers to continue holding them hostage for a future tournament given how long they've been queued in combination with the fact that a good majority of them are not tourney-appropriate files (which is why many of them weren't slotted to begin with) Last edited by One Winged Angel; 12-20-2016 at 12:14 AM.. |

And also actually yeah, I can see glass snafu being 99 but it's not 101 for sure

Re: FFRMas: Song Release Event
okay not gonna lie I kind of see Snafu as a 100, I personally see the end as way more difficult than Cold in general, but it's fine either way.
Cold is of course fine at 100 Pulse is fine at 95, personally would argue 96 but 95 is fine
