Too easy to Lose Credits
I mean, you lose way more credits then you gain! For example, for winning a level, I got like only 3 or 4 credits when if I lose a level, I lose like 5-10 credits! I mean, you should only lose like 1 crdit if you are 3/4 done with the song in not gain some for completing the majority of the song! It's really annoying how you lose credits almost 5 or 10x faster then you can gain them! Not to mention if you are trying a brand new level, you can't exit it!
Other then that.... great work on the new version! Keep up the great work Synthlight! |

I concur. Heavy credit loss discourages trying harder songs, which is how you get better.

Yeah, n00bs (i.e; me) don't want to try harder songs, due to the heavy credit loss... I just tried Breaking the Common, and lost about 7 credits, leaving me on -5. Theres no real reason to punish people for losing, or getting bad scores... its just annoying. I do like the credit system though... Love the new version

Not to mention that I belive there are still a few bugs with the credit system. I mean, when I first tried out this new version I played a couple new songs which I was horrible on and I was at about -20. I slowly worked my way back up playing Megaman 2 over and over again. I was at -1 point and I played Breaking the Common. I did fine, as usual. Beat my high score on it again. I went back and I earned 4 Credits. Natrually this should put me at a +3, correct? I had -17!!! Anyone else having the same problems?

I would have to agree. I'm a fairly novice player, ))))'s are my bread and butter, and I've been toying with )))))'s lately (before .64) to work up my skills. However, with the new credit system, I feel like it's some kind of unnecessary risk or something. I tried my hand at Dendrite again, did pretty good until 3/4s of the way through when all my hand-eye coordination took a dump...-7 credits, and that bloody avatar making an angry face at me...what do I get for going back and completing one of the ))))'s to recoup my lost credits and scoring above 90% of the record holder? 3 credits. 5 if I did good. And the avatar giving me that mother-fudgin' deadpan look. It'd discouraging for newer players, put simply. I can't imagine what it'd have been like if the credit system was in place when I first started...I'd still be working on just getting myself out of "debt"!

That's true. I think that you shouldn't be able to go below 0 or negative 20 or s because players who are just starting have no where to go to 'farm' credits. The easiest songs may pose them enough challenge to loose them points, and once they start trying out new things... ouch.

Yay! Thanks, Synth. Methinks I'll enjoy the credit system a lot more now.
