Default Do we have permission for ''Various artists''?

I recently picked up this CD at Walmart:

Great stuff!

All classic tunes for piano. Some might even be step-worthy!The issue here I guess is that the musicians credited on this album are ''Various Artists''... or is it an issue? Most of these songs are more than 100 years old (The Entertainer, Maple Leaf rag, etc).

Does anyone know if there is a special procedure in this case? If the song gets in game, for example, do we credit Scott Joplin for the music, Various artists, or we simply don't accept it?

Here's the only link I found that could give you more in-depth info about the CD:

Thanks!

Wait, nevermind, read it again. Half asleep here. Disregard this post. Pretty much what hi19 said.

No artist would be credited. Putting "Scott Joplin pf. Various Artists" is both technically wrong and just looked completely retarded lmao. Just credit it as FFR does with other "performer unknown" pieces, simply use the composer's name.

Whether that works for permission purposes is a completely different issue.
The thing is, the sheet music may be well out of copyright range, but the RECORDING might not be. Fuccen legal issues mang
