I don't think shitposting was obviously over, discussion hadn't happened yet at that point (IMO pretty much everything before page 4 is shitposting, though you may disagree).

I believe WnB's mistake was legit, tbh I didn't understand all this greencheck shit until after this game started and it does seem possible that he just assumed it was a straight-up seer check that could flip either way.
