FFR/bemani convention
This has been brought up 2 times in the past, but with over 250,000 registered users and over 30,000 forum users, and with the summer break coming up I think something like this is a great idea. The best location would be somewhere like Kansas because it's the easiest to get to generally since it's in the middle. Plus, it'd be really cool to meet a lot of you in person.

Yes I'm aware that a lot of FFR users live in Canada, but the majority of people on FFR are in the USA, and considering Synth lives in the USA...

We can call it...
SYNTHETICON! I don't know if I'd be able to make it though.

Well, FFR does have 250,000+ members, but how many of them would actually travel hundreds of miles to go to a convention? Plus, many of the members are middle school/ high school students, many too young to travel by themselves.
So I had the idea to just set up an FFR both at an already popular convention (Otakon preferably because it isnt too far away from Synth's home). I dont know. |

There are, like, two people here I want to meet in person. The rest of you can... I dunno. GO to a convetnion and meet up. :P I think I'll pass.
Unless it's in Vegas, for whatever reason, but that seems unlikely, so meh.

I'm too far to go if its in the states. It would be a 3 day drive, and i'm definitally not doing it :O
Would be pretty sweet for the people that could go, though.

or we could all just show up at Synth's house. Im sure he would love 250,000+ people standing on his front yard. But, if there was ever a convention, I would give it a few years so most of the active member could drive or fly. Like jewpin said, most of us are in High school or Middle school, and most people's moms wont let them fly cross country to meet a bunch of people you've never seen. OH, and people would definitly start to fight a few certian members...

This has been discussed before, and while I think it would be incredibly cool, we always hit the same problem, which is that not enough people are going to fly or drive halfway across the country to get there. If we held it in Chicago, the people who live in that area whould come, and nobody else. Basically, we have 30,000 forum members. Out of the people likely to come, the majority are going to come from there. There are 186 people with over 100 posts in the forum- anybody who posts less than that will most likely not come. Now, out of those 186 (most of which don't post regularily at all, but I included them for the sake of a constant), you can't plan for less than half of them to come. Now, is it really worth planning a nationwide convention for what will include probably no more than 90 people?

The core of FFR, socially, is about 50 people. I'd say out of those 50, only 8 (max) would travel across the U.S.
