Exclamation converting songs to itg

I want to put some of my songs onto in the groove. Not the stepmania songs, songs like... american idiot by green day, etc... Like any songs that I want. I know you can do that but when I looked at the instructions on stepmania.com, it said that you used the songs only on stepmania. So does that mean that I would somehow have to put any songs that I want onto stepmania and then transfer it to the USB drive? How would I do that? Someone please tell me how to do this, thanks!

Default Re: converting songs to itg

well first of all this is for the PC version of ITG, not sure how it works with MAC version. but just go to the in the groove folder in "my documents" and then go into songs folder and add a folder (name it whatever you want). The I think its under machine options, open up prefrences, then where it says "additional song folder" (or something like that I cant remeber) add the directory after the = sign so it should look like this:

additional song folder=C: (your computer username)/my documents/in the groove/songs/

thats not exactly wat it should look like but it should look something like that, then just put all of the songs folders into the folder you created, its just like it is in stepmania, just a lil more complicated. sorry for not being more specific but im kinda grounded and my parents took away my computer so i just hacked on to my moms computer and im using that so i wrote all of that from memory. some1 else please correct me if i wrote something wrong.

oh yea i almost forgot, the song must be in .ogg format, ITG cannot play .mp3 for some legal reasons. you can convert mp3 files but you will need to download a file that I doubt you can find for free.
