I'm kinda sentimental towards Inuyasha as it's the first anime I ever really enjoyed watching, unlike DBZ. Watch two people scream at each other for 4 hrs no thanks.

Inuyasha might not be great but at least the first few seasons are entertaining. Especially the first.

C'mon, at least let if finish, and give it some time after to make sure you're just not over-hyping it. I've made a habit of this after thinking Transformers (1) was good.

When I was watching Darker Than Black, I had this feeling throughout the entire show that the people just assumed you knew all the lingo, and what was already going on.
When I watched ef, I felt a bit disappointed they ended up with the pairings implied from episode 1. I also didn't like their references to the game with the "sex" scenes and all.

As for what I like, I know Higurashi is up there, and Ichigo Mashimaro has yet to be archived onto my external (it's been sitting on my hard drive for a few months now 'cause I've been stuck in loli-mode...).
SZS and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (if movies count) are also quality.

Also, regarding Toradora!, it started off really strong, but imo, died down when Minori became all ":'(" and things also fell into the implied pairings.
Things also further went downhill for me with the whole Ryuuji-Mother confrontation, let's run away, let's get married, ok, no-we-can't-be-together, j/k I'm back at school ordeal.
i.e. I didn't like it's ending

Hellsing Ulitmate is a huge pile of ****winawesome, just so you know. Go watch it now if you thought the tv series was even remotely okay. Actually, even if you hated it.

I'll admit, I made it to like, episode thirty-something before I couldn't handle it anymore. That's a lot longer than I gave some other animes held in higher esteem. sup code geass?
