You people and your materialism.

I couldn't give two ****s about what I'm getting for Christmas.

Actually, **** Christmas. The other day, I was going to buy something for my car and my dad was like "no you dont need that  LOL" and previously that day I was like "hey how much would a new wallet cost?" (because my current wallet doesn't hold my new massive wads very well) and my sister goes "dont bother its a waste of money  LOL."

****ing ****s.

I've been opening my christmas presents weeks in advance for years.

That was until I gave a detailed list of everything I wanted and pretty much saw them the day they came in from online orders.

The last time I was actually surprised at christmas was two years ago when they got me an iPod. My sister was the one who asked for it, but they figured it would only be fair if we both got one.

Note: scissors on the taped paper work very well. Just get some clear tape to re-tape up the place you cut open. Oh, and make sure you do it when nobody's home. It works better if you can lock yourself somewhere for a while just to be on the safe side.

It's even more fun when the present is a video game and you take the game out of the box then re-wrap the empty box. Not like anyone is going to open the thing on the day you get it anyway, right?

Hah, creative.
Except the whole game thing would suck if you have a brother or something that wants the game too and is all like, "COOL!" and rips it out of your hands only to find out that the CD is missing from the box. Or someone notices the plastic wrap that was on it when they bought it is gone. Still creative though. :P

I have no relatives like that. I shall try to do that this Christmas.

Most people aren't that perceptive.

If you keep a pile of gifts you've been opening, just put it under something until you can get the disc back in, or take the box to the console as soon as everyone's done opening presents. Then it looks like you already opened it and put it in.

Yes there is such a thing as patience but sometimes I don't have any =x

I always know what I'm getting because my parents always make sure to get exactly what I want. So there really is no surprises for me at christmas.

I'm surprised from my presents because there's so much stuff I want, I don't know what I would prefer so I just hope for the best each year.
One thing I won't be surprised about if I get it; a Wii because it's supposed to be my b-day/christmas present.

There's a pile of about 30 presents, two of which are for me =\.

I found one in the pile and it was a picture frame, but I didn't bother to open it. It better not just be a picture of something or I'll be pissed.

Christmas is always fun.

I get everything I don't need on this day. I used to get a ton of clothes and I really did not like that because I wanted a game and now, I get way too many games I don't want and not enough clothes, which has become a dire need for the last couple of years.

Yeah, that's a good point though.
I never ask for anything for Christmas though, I just get whatever people think I want, no real reason for me to be impatient.

That used to work.

Now that I have my interests set, it's impossible to buy gifts for me.

Put yourself in my parents' place. I like computers and video games. Would you buy a video game for me without asking me? No. I probably wouldn't like it or I'd already have it. Would you buy me some RAM sticks or other hardware? No. What if I don't need it? What if it doesn't work with my motherboard?

All they can buy without asking are clothes, and even then I can't just be like "ok this site has lots of clothes just surprise me". I tell them what shirts to order.

The spirit of being surprised at christmas died a long, long time ago. Back when I used to have lists of things I wanted that were dozens of items long and always wondering what they'd choose to get. My list is now four items long and it's pretty obvious what I'm getting.

It's hard having friends who are the exact same way. What am I supposed to buy them? They have everything I have and if they don't, they don't want it. We usually don't even get each other anything. I might get one of them some candy or something. Not a bag or anything. Like a thirty cent hershey bar.

Yeah, I pretty much just ask for money, then get what I need. Like this year I'll hopefully get enough to get two 1 gb sticks of RAM for my laptop. I definitely need that.

Maybe this was my ultimate failure. I never had these "lists" you speak of with dozens of things I want. I never believed in Santa Claus to begin with so I didn't bother writing him a list. I was so convinced that they'd mail that list to him, that I absolutely refused to write one for them thinking they'd be wasting my time later taking me to the post office to buy stamps to mail the letter.
