Not trying to offend you but please don't offer advice on this subject when it took hours of other people pulling their hair out to help you install Windows 7.

Also did you install your NVidea graphics driver Rubix?

EDIT: I've also had problems with flash in Windows 7...not really 7's problem as I've had this same problem in other OS's.

Yep, I've got all my video drivers and everything updated. My system churns through Crysis on maximum settings like tissue paper.

Xandertrax: It's like asking why 8 inches instead of 6. 6 will get the job done, but 8 is awesome.

In Korea I used PC Cafe computers which all have 4GB Ram (some 8GB) and Windows XP
In USA I use my computer which has 8GB RAM and 64Bit Windows Vista

I got some good scores in Korea over summer
Here I get sh!tfailFAIL scores..

Vista actually isn't laggy at all with the right hardware but most hardware sucks balls with it. IMO torrent yourself some XP then switch to Windows 7.

It has more to do with it not being able to use certain pieces correctly rather than the need for more power.

I have lag on both FFR and SM 3.9 -- give SM 3.9 a shot and let me know (I'd play something and everything felt at least a 16th note off). I experience a lot of lurching with FFR -- it's still playable but it's REALLY annoying to have arrows freeze momentarily and lurch every few seconds. We have slightly different systems although I don't know why I'm getting lag (no Aero helps though).

I've got zero lag on XP though, no lurching.

You aren't alone Rubix.
Win7 x64 does the same thing.
SM & FFR run like crap.

Your best bet is to download & install WinXP (legally, I swear ) and use it for SM/FFR.

Edit: I know this for a fact, the same songs I can AAA on my laptop (WinXP x64) I can't AA on my computer.

It's not junk either, Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.2GHz, Radeon HD 4870.

Oh and one more thing to help: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...1832&CatId=672

The 64-Bit version to XP just in case you need it

Keep XP 32bit, remember we are using this for compatibility only.

I assume you have UAC off, right? That's been known to lag everything.

I've been in and out through Win7 and haven't got anywhere. UAC off, HW acceleration on/off, every option I could think of.
Like I said before, installing 32bit WinXP as a secondary OS is your best bet.

Since you have a Win7 ticket and will be formatting/installing anyway, wait until it's available and do both in one go. (This way you can make two partitions, etc.)

so i must say, windows xp is def. better than 7. I recently had 7 on my computer and was experiencing lag constantly on FFR Beta, and the another way engine. So I went and searched around and found something interesting. Windows XP SP2 64-Bit Superior. One of my friends told me about this OS because the maker is a friend of his. I downloaded the ISO and installed it on my computer. I now have SM 3.9, 3.95, 4, WoW, elder scrolls games, etc. all on this one OS, and I do not lag one bit. Rubix, to be honest, search for this OS or PM and I'll give you a link. It's def. something that you should do. My computer has damn near specs like yours does, except the only thing you might have on me is the graphics card and you have a 24 inch monitor. Mines 21.5. :P But definitely try it out if you want. I'd recommend this OS to anyone that plays rhythm/flash games constantly.
