Re: FFR Community Pack Summer 2012 (Submissions Open)
Watch Out Pt. 2 (rparty89)
Medium - A bit of difficulty gap between this and Hard but not really an issue. Hard - Good to go. Yes Head Phone Actor (NicoNicoDouga Chorus version) (-IA-) - Rainbow note vocals were a little overdone and inaccurate. Consider going over this. - Overall, layering is fine. Really needs an easier chart though because the patterns are difficult at this speed. Song isn't complicated either so an easier chart won't hurt. Pending Those Who Oppose Darkness (Midigami vs. Nai vs. Killjoy) - Missing percussive 4th jumps all throughout the file to keep layering consistent and structurally relevant. You should all thoroughly go through the file and make sure you fill in every missing 4th percussive jump because quite frankly the chart is all over place—it's essentially slapping together a bunch of different pieces without connecting them is what I'm getting at. Make it flow as a cohesive whole by layering one thing super mega consistently and that's how you can successfully pull off collabs. - M19+ (Beat 72+) reconsider the hand layering—the ones that layer cymbal crashes are fine but anything else with hand usage should be a bit more thoroughly used for consistency and structure. - M27 and 31 (Beats 104 and 120) missing cymbal crash hands? - M51 (Beat 200), again reconsider the hand usages—you've gone a bit overboard here, lol. Keep only the essential hands for prominent piano chords or whatever floats your boat. - Beats 206, 214, and 238 shift the patterns around to avoid the 16th [1][1] mini-jack. - M83-85 (Beats 328-336) you should probably layer in what you ignored—this section alone breaks the file flow by a good amount, especially when you aren't using mines to layer what you've purposely ignored. - M89+ (Beat 352+) reconsider the quad usages—there aren't enough 3-note hands to counterbalance the usage in this section therefore it seems way too overlayered than it should be. - I skimmed the rest at this point. - Another major thing I noticed was that there were no holds. This song has tons of stuff that you can emphasize exceptionally well with holds yet you all chose not to, which really kills the file in my opinion. This isn't FFR, go nuts with the holds. - File needs quite a lot of reworking. As a whole, the song is too repetitive and could really use a song cut because frankly it's basically recycling the same song structure over and over again up until the solo. No Raison D'etre ~Kousasuru Shukumei (Pompompulin) Easy - I hope you do realize that the difficulty gap between this and Expert is the size of a galaxy. - Fill in the empty Medium and Hard charts or layer this way more, your call. Expert - Holds do not need to be as long as the sound they layer. Shorten the holds by way more than half its current length to avoid awkward hold-streaming and to reduce visual density. - M40+ (Beat 156+) personally I found a bit overdone—there are no hand usages leading up to this point and then all of a sudden HOLY SHIT HANDSTREAM OUTTA ****IN NOWHERE SHIT JUST GOT REAL. Easy solution I guess would be to layer a few hands before this section to give a smoother transition and it'd better notify the player that shit is about to get real. - Beat 164.750, shift pattern around to avoid the [4][234] jack. It's not used anywhere else in the stream and doesn't emphasize anything significant so it just seems completely random and breaks file flow. - The cymbal crash hands with 32nd note long holds can be shortened by half to again reduce visual density the chart presents. - Overall, well layered. Consider the notes above and get your easier chart(s) sorted out. Pending The First Epidemic (wc) - No real commentary. Poop an easier chart, although I may or may not pass this off as is. Pending Breaking Through The Gate (wc) - No real commentary. Poop an easier chart. Pending Passage D(Neus Remix) (wc) - No real commentary. Poop an easier chart, although I may or may not pass this off as is. Pending JPEG Jive (Kommisar) - No real commentary. Both charts are fantastic. Yes Hanz Up! (Lynn) - No real commentary. Both charts are great. Yes PRESENTER (Lynn) - WHORIE YUI - No real commentary. Both charts are good. Yes Bridge (mi40) - Two of the exact same chart but different amount of mines? Yeah, nice try. - Even if the patterns are different, they both aren't that different in difficulty. This was simply a half-assed attempt at an "easier chart" quite frankly. - Too short of a song. I'm not letting short songs slide in this time. No Super Spy Hunter (mi40) Hard - Again, this is not simplified enough. Simplify, simplify, simplify. Expert - Layering is fine. - Too short of a song. I'm not letting short songs slide in this time. No Super Soaker (dAnceguy117) - Definitely has they sort of old-school-esque file feel to it, haha. - M65+ (Beat 256+) I might consider trimming the length of the holds a tad shorter to avoid awkward transitioning. The pattern itself is fairly unique so you can leave it as is. - No real commentary. Well layered and easier difficulties are acceptable. Yes Cadaver Anatomy - Extraction Of Viscera (Charlo) Medium - As an easier difficulty, It'd trim the length of the holds by half. - Also simplifying/removing a lot more 32nds. Hard - I'd definitely reconsider the 32nd jump-jacks. They're all very difficult to hit. - I don't really have much of an issue with the layering itself. I'd say fix the 32nd jump-jacks and revise easier difficulty a tad more. Maybe Weapon (Kommisar) - SWAGTASTIC Yes Louder (mi40) Medium - Can be simplified more. Hard - No real commentary. Layering is fine and it's different enough from megamon's file in FFRCP Autumn. Yes Queen of Rose (mi40) Hard - Removing a bunch of hands doesn't make a file any easier. Simplify. Expert - M9+ (Beat 32+) the layering transition is awkward and isn't smooth. - Same deal at M86+ (Beat 340+). - Beat 210.5 I'm not quite sure I understand why you layered in the 8th jump hihats here when you didn't do it anywhere else before/after this section. Seems completely randomly placed. - Overall, song could've really used a cut after the guitar solo. The rest of the file becomes dull and boring since you don't really change anything in terms of layering and patterns. - I have no real issue with the layering. I'd say, get your easier chart sorted out and probably just delete all the steps after ~M96 (Beat 381), rofl. Maybe Morgenglut 2012 (Yume) - No real commentary. Both charts are excellent. Yes London (AlexDest) - No real commentary. Poop an easier chart. Pending Neurotoxin (LongGone) - No real commentary. Both charts are cool. Yes Advent of Purinpu! Satan-sama (Scylaax) Medium - Good. Hard - Can be simplified more. The 16th streams you can break up into separate sections and the 24th rolls and what not aren't really necessary and would be better suited as 16ths. Expert - Good. Yes Far East Nightbird (Scylaax) - No real commentary. Both charts are fine. Yes Ramua (Scylaax) - No real commentary. Both charts are smooth. Yes Sayonaramatane (Scylaax) - No real commentary. Both charts are classy. Yes House of Pleasure V2 (iRanch) - Both charts are good to go. Yes File queue is at 48 whopping files. @Pretty Picture People: Check first post for the Songs in Need of Graphics list: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...26&postcount=1

Like I said GD, gfx for you.
And if the gfx for Banamana are too much like yours, here's some new ones. |

Re: FFR Community Pack Summer 2012 (Submissions Open)
I don't really care because I've already changed styles/phases, though it was a funny troll attempt. Your CDtitle is what I'm not taking though—I'm using your usual one.
Thanks anyways.

Re: FFR Community Pack Summer 2012 (Submissions Open)
i wasn't trying to toll you, I just thought it would be funny if you left them in there and see who'd mix me up with you just by gfx alone. People would be like "This is your worst file GD wtf?"

Re: FFR Community Pack Summer 2012 (Submissions Open)
Forever ago, although I might go out a glaze of glory.
BTW GD, don't expect harder charts for Arcade, I'm not having people play the meh spread chart and never touch the nice index chart I spent forever on. I'll make easier ones though. |

Re: FFR Community Pack Summer 2012 (Submissions Open)
you've played the game long enough so you should be able to analyze files while you're playing them by now. just see how other people layer stuff in different songs, paying attention to note, jump/hand, hold, and mine placements.
aim to make patterns that are comfortable for you yourself to play while at the same time expressing the song exactly the way you want to. there are no real rules to stepping stuff aside from the objective shit like sync and offset, so go nuts. I'm reasonably lenient and understanding, so you don't have to be scared shitless that I'm going to dunk on ya file because chances are I wont. just step the way you want to is all I can tell you—nobody should be telling you how or what to step.
