Great sound card, but you'll have to wait for the next product run.

Re: FFR, Help me pick parts for a new comp
Why would you want a seperate sound card? I find anything built into the mobo is fine. Go for decent ram (I use 2 gigs of mushkin pc6400 ram) a good video card (pay atleast 200 dollars) and basically go from there. Video card is very key when you want a higher framerate, with my geforce 8800 GTS 640 mb I can pull off 140fps on World of Warcraft without much trouble.

Re: FFR, Help me pick parts for a new comp
Listen to me,
DO NOT GET VISTA. Also, Check out this card. I bought it from Newegg.com not too long ago. It can run TF2 on highest settings, full-screen @ 1280x768. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102084 No matter what the reviews are, know this- It works perfectly for me. Source games run full screen on highest settings... Even anti-aliasing and HDR... I say buy it; its cheap and its good.

Re: FFR, Help me pick parts for a new comp
1280x768 isn't too great of a resolution, kyle.
Might also want to contemplate a DX10 card, since you'll probably want to get Vista once SP1 is released. Edit: nevermind your current card is fine and dx10. It's about the same as my card (8600 GTS) but with a faster core clock, and I can run games much more intensive than TF2 at high res and good settings.

I got an NVidia GeForce 8600 and it runs TF2 without ANY flaws. I can play most things right now at full settings.
