Re: Any other Buddhists, New Agers, Occultists on FFR
I am not a buddhist, but I do adapt a lot of their philosophies; I also studied kungfu for 8 years which was heavily grounded in buddhism, especially with mindfulness, qi manipulation, etc. Qi was interesting because I'm not 100% sure what to think about it, especially after demonstrations that felt very bizarre (punching me in the abs a certain way, not hard at all, that felt like there was a force that flipped gravity for my insides, and then an uncontrollable urge to curl over).
I find it very useful for letting things come and go, self control, mindfulness, etc. There definitely isn't a day where I haven't used what I've learned. As far as new age stuff goes, I like the idea of Pandeism, and other metaphors for the universe's birth, but none I strongly believe in. They're just neat to imagine. Things like numerology and astrology have absolutely no interest for me though, for pretty obvious reasons. Sacred geometry similarly feels less important, but I like aspects of it for aesthetic ideas, and thinking about quantum related things. All with a grain of salt though.

I live my life like an ebb and flow. Sometimes the tides are high, sometimes the tides are low. But they constantly are moving, and while I can't influence the tide very much, I believe my actions of doing good or doing bad effect how the waves will generate

Re: Any other Buddhists, New Agers, Occultists on FFR
Welcome to most of my life experience and what I base my belief of what my existence is. Mostly centered around new age, Buddhist type beliefs.
I believe sacred geometry is everything. Then a again it is only a part of what our existence is and is made up of. It is wise to only take proclaimed truth with a grain if salt because there are so many ways to see one thing. And we all only have our own perceptions to work with and manipulate to what our minds can create as possibilities. |

Re: Any other Buddhists, New Agers, Occultists on FFR
New Age beliefs and Buddhism are vastly different. I would almost call them mutually exclusive.
I don't like to go into the details, but you might do good to read up on them both before using them in the same sentence in such a manner. |

Re: Any other Buddhists, New Agers, Occultists on FFR
New age brings together the many truths spread out between Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Catholicism along with the many other different world religions. New age brings together the perspective of "one became the many and the many became the one" so I guess you could say my perspective is new age with an emphasis on Buddhist beliefs. They are not far off from each other.
