Default offline fiffer?

was looking around but couldn't seem to find a thread for this, so i was wondering if there ever was or will be an offline version of FFR. not expecting to be able to upload scores because there wouldn't be an account linked to it, but it would be nice having an offline engine to download.

"but phantom you stupid stoop, just get stepmania." tbh i don't care for the difference in judge accuracy between the two. that and how long it takes to load every time with all those packs >.< so yea, if anybody knows of an offline FFR or if there will be one, would appreciate it a lot.

i'm kind of surprised no one has answered this yet
FFR will be very unlikely to release a downloadable version for offline play. This is due mostly to the fact that all the permissions we get, we tell them that there will be no option for downloading their music for free, that ffr is mutually beneficial to them for publicity and to us for entertainment. There's also the whole site rule of no posting where to get in game content to download.

There was one site that popped up that basically had a backup of the at time ffr when ffr went down for 10 months, but that's the closest you'll get probably.

I'm surprised nobody redirected you to an earlier thread this year precisely about this.

It's written using Velocity engine code, but it is a working offline FFR engine!

Here's the thread and I suggest you read it so you can properly get it to work:

Deal breaker for me. The reason I stopped with StepMania was because I like the online competitive vibe that's offered here. If the scores could be uploaded, I would literally purchase the program. *wink* *wink*

as much as i appreciate wafles' effort on that site, it barely counts because so much depends on manual input on both the moderators' and the end user's parts
someone (rebirth?) once created a site called blue planet that you could just upload your stats.xml file to and be done with it. the downside to that was it depended on how your songs folder was arranged (since stats.xml indexes scores by the directory of the file) so there were lots of opportunities for duplicate files
of course stepmania will never have a centralized scoreboard like ffr does because it's used in so many different contexts that someone's feels will inevitably be hurt by such a development
