Re: Playstation 1 suggestions
Yes! An HD remake of the game called New 'n Tasty came out just recently. That doesn't happen for just any game.
Let's not forget about it's sequel, Abe's Exodus. Improved commands (ditching the whistling and adding an "All a ya" command) made it much easier to guide your friends to safety. Also, QUICKSAVE!! My cousin and I used to have a tradition of beating this game every summer. So yeah. - Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee - Oddworld: Abe's Exodus My suggestions.

I just recently bought the first Tomb Raider as well since it was fairly cheap in this other vintage store. (CGX) My friend owns Tony Hawk Pro skater 2 for the PS1. We share games so I practically own it. Such a good a game<3 I still can't find a copy of Crash Team Racing in any store at the moment. I'm really starting to believe that I may have to buy this online. I've never heard of it. Definitely will look into it. Quote:

Re: Playstation 1 suggestions
Lots of what I was think has already been mentioned on this thread. don't know if you are into fighters but a classic fav' was Bloody Roar II. Me and my cousins mastered all the special moves for all the characters xD Another trip down memory lane would be Brave Fencer Musashi. I hear they made a 2nd 3D for PS2.. but meh'

Re: Playstation 1 suggestions
Well ok mahou, here are short comments:
Beyblade - i remember liking this as a kid Chrono Cross - considered underrated rpg by some, sequel to chrono trigger Einhander - an horizontal shoot em up by Square, definitely in my top 5 of all time. Pick it up if shmups are a genre you enjoy, it is worth tracking down. Phenomenal. Final Fantasy Tactics - turn based strategy game, interesting take on final fantasy Final Fantasy VII - needs no introduction. Legendary. Final Fantasy VIII - not my favorite, but not a bad rpg either Final Fantasy IX - my second favorite final fantasy game. The story is amazing in particular. Front Mission III - turn based strategy game by square, but with mechs! Pretty cool Gran Theft Auto 2 - before gta was mainstream, fun gem Gran Turismo - simulation racing game Intelligent Qube - the most epic puzzle game you'll ever play. And I do mean epic! JetMoto 2 - fun racing game showing off ps1 graphix MediEvil - fun 3d adventure game with a spooky theme MediEvil II - its sequel Mortal Kombat 4 - mk in 3d!!!!!!!!!!! Mortal Kombat Trilogy - the best version of mortal kombat I played, recommended Parasite Eve - an interesting rpg by square The Raiden Project - a compilation of raiden 1 and 2, shoot em ups. Classic Raycrisis - a shoot em up by taito, the sequel of raystorm Raystorm - a shoot em up by taito. A really like this series, check it out, along with rayforce (arcade, saturn, ios) Resident Evil 2 - survival horror, needs no intro lol R-Type Delta - a brutal shoot em up, almost as good as einhander. Interesting mechanics. Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! Spyro: Year of the Dragon (x2) Tales Of Destiny II - sprite based rpg in the tales of series, why not! Vandal Hearts - turn based strategy game by konami Xenogears - cool rpg |

Re: Playstation 1 suggestions
Well lots of people have mentioned some games that I woulda suggested but I'm really sad no one said anything about the Megaman X games =(
Megaman X4 was probably the best out of the other ones for the PS1 (X5 and X6) but if you enjoy X4 then you will definetly want to check out X5 and X6 too.

Re: Playstation 1 suggestions
Alot of good titles in here. here some some of my favorites
RPG: Xenogears, Star Ocean 2, All of the Final Fantasy games, Racing: Ridge Racer R4, Crash Team Racing, Rally Cross Adventure/Platformer: Strider 2, Crash Bandicoot 3, Frogger (it's an easy play through for an adult, but was fun as hell when I was like 13 and it has it's charm even today) Action/War: Metal Gear Solid, Medal of Honor: Underground, Dino Crisis 1/2 Fighting: Soul Edge, Bushido Blade, Tekken 1-3, Darkstalker 3 (although if you can import, the PS2 collection of Vampire Saviors kicks the shit out of owning any of the PS1/dreamcast games) Puzzle: Bust-a-Move 4, Namco Museum vol 3 (for Phozon dear God love that game) Sports: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2/1, NFL 98 (989 studios), NFL Blitz 2000, Cool Boarders 3 Guncon Games: Revolution X, Time Crisis I know I am forgetting great games but that's it for now Quote:

Re: Playstation 1 suggestions
I am surprised no-one as said Hogs of War yet, that game was awesome, too bad its stupid hard to find now. (good thing I still have my copy, cheapest I have seen one go for here is around Ł15)
Also if you can find a guncon and have a CRT then all three Point Blank games are great, and are something different to other guncon shooters.

I saw in MN's post about Vandal Hearts, that is a game work grabbing as well. It's short in my opinion, only takes about 16 hours to beat if you're a subpar turn-based strategist. Haven't tried Flames of Judgement yet (2nd in the series) but I saw and heard it was at least decent but still couldn't live up to the Original. I say this often when regarding anything PS1, but the Suikoden series is a masterpiece, ESPECIALLY the PS1 versions (1, 2, and 3 I believe are only on PS1) and they all take roughly 40 hours to get an ~70% run complete, and there's 108 characters [Stars of Destiny] that you need to gather in order to see hidden content and other various things. Twisted Metal was an amazing pre-had-to-be-on-an-official-track racing game, where it didn't really consist of winning races, but absolutely obliterating your competition using missiles and guns. Syphon Filter was a great game, one of the earliest shooter games I have ever played/owned, but you had to be already decent at recognizing who is an enemy in the snow/fog and where you had to go, not even including that hidden bombs are around the maps that if you happen to shoot in that area, you'll most likely lose the mission/die. I saw Crash Bandicoot being named and just yes.yes.yes.yes.yes.gifs Rayman, the ORIGINAL, just Rayman. This game was so much fun as a kid, even a teen when I picked it up again, and it possessed that Rayman feel of exploring levels and saving pink lums, yet it had such a hard mechanic to it and that was realizing what was a boundary and jumping down onto a platform was impossible. This is just a list of some games that I would definitely pick up and play if I bought a PS1, but I have 4 of them

Klonoa: Door to Phantomile
Bomberman World And lets be honest here, the second installment of Parasite Eve was the better one.

Also I didn't play Rayman until I was well into my 20s and I just....eh..don't like it. I don't even think I would have really cared for the pacing of the game back as a kid. But trust me, I'm well aware that the majority of the world disagrees with that lol |

I just remembered this
the game's Irritating Stick. I broke a controller or two as a kid trying to finish it. And for the love of everything Ps1, don't overlook bmah's suggestion. Quote:
