5 Years From Now
Well, with FFR finally hitting the quarter million members mark, I figured maybe it's time we stepped back and reflected a little bit. FFR has been around for about a year and a half. In that time, over 250,000 people have joined, the site's prestige spread purely by word-of-mouth. And of course, the more people we have, the more people join exponentially. So, where does everybody see FFR in 5 years?
I think that eventually it'll gain even more prestige and fame, and be known as well as Newgrounds or Maddox. In 5 years I expect it to be on T.V. at least once, maybe even get a news story (hey, it's a great public intrest piece), we'll have over 2 million members at the very least, and advancements in Flash and computer technology will make it as perfectly synced and as graphically enhanced as Stepmania. Some famous dude will get hooked and send Synth a big ass check to run the site, Maddox will write at least one article about it, Synth will show up on Opera, and Arch will replace Simon as the next American Idol badass judge (XD). How's that? |

It wouldn't take FFR 5 years to be at the same medium as stepmania... but in the future, the site will only grow, I doubt it will get killed off especially after .68

If FFR dies off (god forbid), it won't be from lack of funds...even if Synth had like, financial troubles or something, there's enough members here that have money to keep it up...it happened to Bemanistyle and they're still around.

actually, i know many of you will hate me for this, but i think this all is just a fad and that it wont stand the test of time (5 years)...i even think DDR will lose its appeal in the states by then, even though it hasnt reached its peak yet...i know that if this site lasts 5 years i wont be here

When I'm rich, I'll give James Webb some money to fund his site.
When, not if I'm rich. Bitches!

I dunno if I'll still be here in 5 years (I've been on another message board from April 18, 1999, so who knows..) but I'm sure the site will still be around. And with the CD sales that just recently opened up, Synth will probably have some Xcess cash to run this site...
I for one, am envious of the job the FFR team has done to make this place a smashing success for now.. Now for my randomicity: In 5 years, FFR will be so advanced it'll be some virtual world that we enter and we play on a pad.. just like in reality, except.. fantasy. Or the songs will play you.

FFR will definitely be around five years from now..and it will certainly be at the level (or maybe better in certain areas) than stepmania. Here are some questions on my mind for what's to become of FFR in 5 years:
1 - Will Synth still be in charge, or will be pass the torch to someone else? 2 - Will it really rise to the level of Newgrounds and other sites? 3 - With the simfile database growing..will it actually surpass bemanistyle? 4 - Will WE still be around? Will we still be posting and playing FFR?

probably, but possibly, in 5 years, his son might be old enough to play, and he might pwn us all... 2 - Will it really rise to the level of Newgrounds and other sites? definitly. 500-1000 members a day is alot. it might be as popular as...other games...(cant think of any) 3 - With the simfile database growing..will it actually surpass bemanistyle? idk 4 - Will WE still be around? Will we still be posting and playing FFR? i know i will...holy crap imagine all the n00bs signing up all day long and posting all day long...in 5 years, if FFR gets 500-1000 members a day, pretty much every active member now will be needed as a mod. EDIT: also, as FFR becomes more popular, bigger and more popular artists will want their songs on FFR. |
