Smile Playing style

Hey, so i'm still kinda new to the game and id like to know if this playstyle i use is optimal, i play two handed, i use the arrow keys,i use my left index finger for up and down, left middle finger for left and right index finger for right, this generally works for very difficult, but when it gets to challenging or above i just can't keep up with the bunch of arrows that appear, i'd like to know if there is a playstyle that can help me get better at these difficulties, or if just need to get gud.

It doesn’t sound that practical. I would suggest a change to a setup similar to as kl, or maybe for you a setup on two rows such as qa lp or so. (Standard spread setup, or what’s referred to a hybrid.)

(Read these setups in this finger order: left middle left index right index right middle in the left, up, down, right mapping of the arrows.)

Alternatively, you could do asd l if you wanted to keep a similar setup. But regardless the arrow keys themselves tend to be bad.

The games difficulty scale and charts are designed around using the spread playstyle, where you use 2 fingers on each hand to play 2 buttons each. That is what is largely considered the optimal way to play. there are plenty of other play styles out there, like using 3 fingers on 1 and and 1 on the other, or just using both index fingers, but the majority play with spread. If you dont care about optimal play, just use whatever style you have fun with.

Thanks, so far A S K L works best for me, my main issue was that hitting up and down simultaneously with the arrows keys was very awkward, but now it isn't tha big of a problem anymore, just need to get used to it now!

Adjusting takes time, make sure you're not playing things that are too out of the norm for yourself so you can focus on the change rather than mashing.

Good luck.
