Default www.flashflashrevolution.com tutorial

I'm looking for someone to make a full tutorial about everything in our site
starting from the game interface itself , key mapping speed mods , song selection , difficulty system ..on to the different stats how to access and use your personal level ranks and understand them

explanations about the profiles everything that goes in the profile , how to configure your region
info about the token system
info about the simfile database the video database everything

I'm just showing people the game and many of them are confused , not aware to them having profiles and their ranks being saved ,, the existence of individual song pages and ranks and so on

a good youtube video could hit a high view count overtime
and will be helpful

I think simplicity would be the main thing needed here. You can't just cram all the information about everything that has to do with FFR into one long YouTube video and expect a newbie to watch the entire thing and pay attention and stay interested, but a series of smaller videos covering individual topics would be a great idea. Just link them all in one page and let the new guy decide on which video he needs to watch to learn about what's confusing him at the moment.

I would also consider maybe a flash object with buttons, for maybe redirection to certain tutorials
for example - profiles, ffr in general

Are they illiterate or something? I mean if they can't spend a little bit of time reading the FAQ to answer their queries then they shouldn't really be on the site.

I agree 100% with TRD.

While this does sound like a well thought-out and creative idea, we do have an FAQ page. Although one thing I'd like to suggest is to make the link easier to find so that newbies will see it.

anyway it could only do good in theory

also i am talking about non american 13 year olds
did you ever wonder why there are single digit amount of players from countries with a population in the millions
maybe its better they focus on their homework

A more in-depth FAQ covering more topics would work wonders. Some visuals to go along with the explanations, also.

Ya, because reading some text is really "earning your keep". Honestly, you make it sound like effort.

Not really. I mean this is a website that focuses entirely on the English language. Other languages aren't spoken here, so first of all you'd need to be able to read and write English pretty fluently, that takes out quite a few people in those "countries with a population in the millions".

Next you have the target demographic of FFR. FFR is catered towards people who like DDR-esque games or rhythm games in general. If said people in said countries do not like this then they are not likely to sign up or actively participate in the forum.

Finally, said people need to actively participate for you to notice them. There could be tons of people on the forums from lots of countries but because they don't speak you may miss their profile, not to mention if they don't include their home country how are you to know where they come from?

Thus, when you put all that together you get very little people who would actually be able to join the site from those "countries with a population in the millions" that you would even notice.

TRD covered what I was going to say in regards to foreign countries...

As far as video tutorials... I don't see how you'd expect new users to find/watch them vs finding/reading the FAQs. There is also an in-game tutorial below the game itself, but that only covers the game itself.

I bet that most people prefer watching a hands on tutorial on FFR than reading text, because they can see how to do it correctly, and they can do it with that guidance easier than reading a text FAQ, which just explains it, but doesn't show how you should do it.

That might sound stupid :P

I just prefer vids.

the percentage of people with internet that could like FFR is not different anywhere
we are all same people and from 100% of any group a certain same % will like FFR

yes there could be hidden members but you use the active ones as a indicator and they are few

Thus, when you put all that together you get very little people who would actually be able to join the site from those "countries with a population in the millions" that you would even notice. well all this talk about distribution of players is a different subject really

was thinking about something just like there is currently on the front page when you are not logged in. only with videos just like that one that opens up on the game page

Maybe someone could work on adding new sections of the FAQ little by little during their spare time, and a couple users can make a few tutorial vids to help assist new users along with the FAQ. It's not like there is such a massive amount of new users in extreme need of help that it would be hurting the site majorly.

ITT bashing 13 year olds.

I'll make a video via Hypercam, but someone will have to add the voicing for it unless you want it to sound like 13 year olds run the site. >.>

Lol. :P
