Windows 7 Problem
How do I stop this white box from popping up?
It pops up randomly when I'm playing on standalone and it lags me. |

Re: Windows 7 Problem
It's not pinned to the taskbar. It hasn't done this before and it just started recently popping up. When it's up it drops my frames drastically. Suck during MP because I can't get rid of it without losing the song.

And/or stop running League and other not-in-use programs while trying to play FFR.

Re: Windows 7 Problem
Heh, have you considered upgrading to Windows XP? j/k, but one option might be to play with explorer itself not running (task manager > kill explorer.exe without running it again). That would make it rather complicated to accomplish certain tasks, but it might be beneficial in terms of lag.
I have noticed that in all applicable versions of Windows the file manager and taskbar (both related to explorer.exe), and the window manager itself all seem to be rather bloaty and cumbersome, especially when I installed Win 8. One option is to disable taskbar previews, and another is to make sure your graphics drivers are up to date and/or disable the fade-out effect that is known to cause this glitch. (Found with a Google search about win 7 taskbar tooltips. Google is your friend.) I still recommend closing programs and windows that are not in use, but either way I hope this is useful.

right-click your standalone .exe and make your check boxes look like these. (oops run as administrator would be good too, for unrelated reasons) nice detective work by the way, ryuyasha. |

taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe
path where the standalone is C:\windows\explorer.exe make a new text document and just save as a .bat. |
