Is it more dubstep or drum n bass influenced?
I ask because I love Nero but I know they have some dubstep tendencies and don't want to have more dubstep on my computer.

Apparently my own words weren't a reliable source enough for you, even though I've been listening to this music for 5 years now, been in 4 bands, been on tour, and have booked countless shows at our local d.i.y venue. And who the **** am I SUPPOSED to ask about what screamo and emo really are? You think professors at Berklee write editorials on punk rock culture? No. If you want to know what punk rock is, ask a person that listens to punk rock.

Except right now I'm listening to some Bibio, which is ambient-folk.

anyways ppl emo isnt like "lol cut myself!" in case you havent noticed. emo certainly derived from punk music--though perhaps not DIRECTLY; listen to cap'n jazz - "little league" for easy proof, though obviously there are tons more examples
