I knew about the rule, but I disagree with it in entirety, and I'm sure other judges do as well since they are late with detailed notes.

I personally think it's good to help pinpoint problems that a person has within one simfile so that they reduce the potential of making that same mistake in the future. It works both ways - users get what they want, and eventually, judges get less of what they don't want (i.e. mistakes).

Yes, thank you. I agree with this fully. This is exactly why I do this myself. I would hate for someone to have to figure out where they made their mistakes.

This might depend on personaly preference but I don't always like "long" or "detailed" notes when the most important things for the rating are obscure there. "Tips for the improvement of the files" are nice to have there, but you don't really need to include all of them when you don't have enough time.

Anyways,

Haha, I guess I'm the only one who wasn't a fan of Resistance 4, lol.

Congrats on getting the file in, Ji.

EDIT: I see multiple collabs under +2 SAP, but those will be rewarded 0, right?

FYI, we have a system to make the rating system fairer (ex. when one judge's rating is drastically lower/higher than others).

- If average rating of one group is higher than another one, the final ratings will be adjusted between groups (average file quality factor = 50%, judge's strictness factor = 50%).
- If a judge is stricter/more lenient (lower/higher average rating) than others in the same group, the ratings will be adjusted. Variation of ratings will be considered too.
- We calculate final scores of a file in two ways, "raw average" and "adjusted average" (halving MAX & MIN scores). If one of these is above the cutoff then the file is accepted. Both scores should be above the certain line for SAP(2) or SAP(3).

Can you clarify this rule, please? Wouldn't the adjusted average -always- be below the raw average?

oh nope, since we're dividing with (n-1) for adjusted average.

9/7/7/7 -> raw = 7.5 and adj = 7.33
8/8/8/4 -> raw = 7.0 and adj = 7.33

HELLO

did not know that bolded part, haha.

So, using the 8/8/8/4, we'd cut one 8 and the 4 in half to go:

4/8/8/2 (equaling 22)

and then since the values are cut in half, the numbers are half as potent (i.e. 4 and 2 become worth half a judge a piece to make the [n-1].)

That makes a lot more sense; thanks a lot JX

2/4 plus a resubmit... not bad. Will fix up SMB2 and if anything is truly wrong with TYHY i'll fix that up too. Pretty pleased. :>

I thought the exact same thing that AJ did. When calculating it before the n-1 it was ALWAYS consistently lower ... naturally. Now with the (n-1) I see how both scores would differ then.

So (using my file as an example) is this right:

My Ratings were - 2,6,6,7 :

Raw = 5.25
Adj = 5.5

?
