DJMAX Black Square
So has everyone with a PSP tried the new DJMAX game? Its the sequel to DJMAX Clazziquai for PSP and can link discs with all of the previous games including DJMAX Portable 1 and 2. It also has Fever x7 and I still haven't gotten to look at all the new features since I just started playing it.
Anyways, let me know what you think!

Re: DJMAX Black Square
You probably haven't tried out DJ Max yet have you?
ANYONE that plays DJ Max will agree to the fact that it is simply better than PSPRevolution in terms of gameplay, replay value, and diversity of play. For example, DJ Max has 4 buttons, 5 buttons, 6 buttons, 6 buttons with the 2 shoulder buttons on the PSP making it 8, 4 buttons with the 2 shoulder buttons on the PSP making it 6. It also has combo multipliers, missions which are pretty damn hard towards the higher tiers of the game itself. Try it. The DJ Max series for the PSP has me playing it for over 2 years (since it came out) non stop. You guys should really try it out. [There is an English language option!] |

Re: DJMAX Black Square
I have Black Square, and I own Portables 1 and 2 as well as Clazziquai Edition.
I was expecting a lot from this release as I was hoping it would still hold up to DJ Max Portable 2's standard, if not, surpass it. Unfortunately, it didn't. Black Square lacks new refreshing content just like Portable 2 had, and there is less amount of gears and notes to choose from. DJ Max Portable 2 had 55 songs (61 counting exclusive 5 button charts.) Black Square only has 48. What even hurts Black Square more is that there are 13 repeats from the previous releases (9 from Clazziquai with a terrible remix, and 4 from the Portable 1 and 2 with even terrible charts!) The new songs in Black Square also gets old fast after playing them a few times. The choice of song content is terrible overall; soft house music seems to be the more dominant genre as it was in Clazziquai, and a couple of old DJ Max online songs practically fill up the list including Yo Max (why the **** did they put this song in?). As for terrible charts, Space of Soul for 6-button is ridiculously nonsense (try to see how those triplets fit in the early part of the song), Nightmare and Divine Service are toned down A LOT (at least in 6-button mode), and Hamsin is filled with stupid 1/8 jacks. In short, disappointing game which was rushed by Pentavision. Seems like they slacked a little on this one. Quote:
