That's a movement.

I don't have an issue with movements, at all. If there was a movement that could actually have some sort of affect on mankind, then I would be all for it. But this? People already know about him. Will my $30 go directly to tracking and capturing/killing this guy? I highly doubt it. The fact that he's using children for his acts of terrorism is the only reason he's getting this much attention.

Re: KONY 2012
Just to clarify. Yes, I think what Kony is doing, especially with the children, is wrong. Yes, I hope he's captured at some point (or killed). No, I won't participate in this movement because it won't change anything.

Re: KONY 2012
The "right" thing to do would be to go to Uganda with a decent sized force and actively hunt for Kony but I doubt that many people would do this.

I have the money to do tasks here to raise awareness. I don't have the money to go there and help. I'm doing things to help that are realistic for me right now. Yes, it may seem small but it eventually adds up, especially if you're helping to spread who he is and showing our world leaders we do care. |

No outside support, no Ugandan force, Kony wins. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...Criminal_Court We all thought Saddam and Osama were real culprits here. Even Gaddafi does not compare to the crimes this guy has committed. I still don't understand how these three are more known than Kony, especially when his rebellion has been going on for 20+ years. How and why did that get ignored and left alone until now?

Re: KONY 2012
That's all the money is going to, raising awareness. I'm looking at the Kony2012 site right now and there is nothing here that says what the money is going to. Clicking "give" doesn't say anything about where the money is going, clicking "get the kit" doesn't say anything either.
That is literally the only issue I have, in terms of donating. If there was a tiny section that said something like, "50% of the donations go towards the Ugandan government to help fund a military manhunt," then I would definitely donate. Hell, I would donate more than just $30 dollars. Awareness won't change anything, all it's doing is waving a big fan in front of our government and saying "HEY THIS DUDE ON THE TOP 10 WORLD'S MOST WANTED LIST? THIS DUDE THAT'S BEEN INDICTED BY THE ICC? YEAH, HE'S A BAD PERSON AND SHOULD BE CAUGHT."

I'm sure not much has been done in regards to this act, but at least Kony has been acknowledged.

Re: KONY 2012
I've just watched the video and shared it about.
I hope something is done about this prick. But I think, what if someone else just takes his place? He's brainwashed enough people for it to happen, and that's what terrorists do. |

Re: KONY 2012
Then we'll just start another movement.
But hey, if people want to raise awareness for a terrorist that over 50 governments know about, then that's cool. I'm sorry I don't feel the need to donate money to a movement that will accomplish nothing.

Re: KONY 2012
I bought the kit. Terrorists must be known and they must suffer the consequences, whether this be propaganda, real aid, whatever. Either way, it sent the right message:
Life > money

Re: KONY 2012
I'm not buying the kit. But Kony is still a pretty bad dude and it would only benefit Uganda/neighboring countries if he's captured/killed.
Life != money

Re: KONY 2012
I'm buying an action kit tomorrow when I put money on my debit card. ^_^
It upsets me to see how many people get pissed over this clogging up their facebook. I see people saying shit like: omg this has been going on for years and i've known about it for sooo long, why does everybody suddenly care? obviously because it was thrown into the spotlight and nobody has heard about it yet. -.- Oh well, this thing is spreading like wildfire on tumblr and twitter. :')

Re: KONY 2012
i think the only most of you are contributing to this, is because you're too lazy to get off your ass and do something for this world, so you just purchase this "action kit" as an excuse.
cool vid tho lol |
