Re: choof's 90 day recovery shit
got a call from a staffing agency, normally I'm apprehensive about contract work but this one's in vegas and it's for tech support with ups, so I went ahead and scheduled an interview
had to do a typing test and a windows 7 familiarity test 80 wpm and 30/30 questions correct lol it pays $12.45/hr, which is definitely not bad. 3 month contract, and I've already talked to the staffing agency about the autechre concert in october lol. I just won't get paid for the thursday and friday I'll be in cali. I also went ahead and signed up for a 10k mud run in october as well. I don't think I'll have too many issues with it, and I have one of the best motivation factors: a girl that I grew up with. we've kinda dug each other from afar over the years, so it'll be really nice to see her again. |

@choof -- do you know what your testosterone levels are? I'd imagine they're better than they were before doing this but alcohol + depression can double-anal your testosterone levels

Re: choof's 90 day recovery shit
it's been a minute since i've been in full blown alcoholism, i'll still drink a craft beer every now and then though
the depression is slowly going away, everything's starting to feel significantly better and i'm not nearly as bitter as i was a month ago i imagine low testosterone would impact my recovery? my legs are still sore from squats i did on tuesday, and i've had plenty of time to stretch them out |

Re: choof's 90 day recovery shit
that first week was hell
i'm still pretty much perpetually sore but at least i have a bit more energy now i started taking multivitamins officially signed up for the mud run, decided to go with the 5k, didn't want to embarrass myself lmao. i might go a bit harder in the paint in regards to running and bump it up to 4 or 5 times a week to get prepared for the run. |

Re: choof's 90 day recovery shit
Xanax / benzos are so terrible, assuming you were drinking alcohol with them. I fell off the planet too for awhile recently. I did post a random thought about what has been happening. I'm happy to hear youre back on the right track.
Staying on the right track is the hard part. You seem to have it nipped in the bud though. GJ |

Re: choof's 90 day recovery shit
hey man, I was actually wondering about you a few weeks ago. nah, I wasn't drinking. I don't really drink anymore, at least not by myself. I did drink a bit at a club on wednesday night, was watching my brother perform. we got happy hour prices even though it wasn't happy hour lol.
staying on the right track is tough, but it seems to be getting easier. it's becoming a bit of a habit to not wallow around. |

This is really cool, choof, I'm glad I took the time to read it. Hope that shit is going well for you, idk about others, but personally I can take a lot from this guideline too, especially the budget. Best of luck, man!

Re: choof's 90 day recovery shit
have continued to work out, eating better
feel a lot better physically and mentally not "loving life" but I'm content atm the mud run is tomorrow, so I'll be posting pictures after I get totally destroyed by it! 5k with obstacles, I'm expecting a time of about 45 minutes. that might seem awful, but I'm basing it off of 12 minutes per mile and then another 10 minutes or so spent on obstacles. hype! |

Mudders are fucking neat. Looking forward to seeing your results.
As for your improvement, glad to hear it. Fitness is great for dealing with depression--at least in my experience. |
