I hope they don't take out Sonic for Megaman, as cool as he is.

He was my bro alongside Luigi :V

Meh, nothing will ever top melee. That's the only game I've logged in way more hours than FFR. Brawl flat out sucked balls, and I'm expecting these to as well.

Edit: just watched the official trailer and I can confirm it will suck balls.

SSBM was such a solid game, and they turned it to shit with Brawl.

Call me nutty but I am not excited for this new game, because odds are it will still be dumbed down/slowed down/packed to the brim with needless crap.

Really pissed me off how they made Brawl so that "everyone was on a more level playing field." They bitched about how "unfair" some of the pros became at that game when really they deserve a ton of credit for all the work they put in to become that good.

It would be like if they made FFR way easier so that almost anyone could get really good scores without putting in half the work that people such as Dossar, etc. have to get as good as they are. Completely takes all the fun right out if you don't have as much to work for IMO.

iono, brawl isn't too bad.
I also didn't think melee was "that" good either.

Melee and Brawl were both equal for me//
but SSB, oh DAMN that was a good game. If they just updated it a bit i would spend the rest of my life on it again

If you don't like brawl that's fine but you can definitely still smash someone if that's what it's about lol. Every time my friends come over they have to be on a team against me so the ego boost is still there if you worked for it
True melee was more fast paced, but you can still become a pro at both games(and yes I know about wavedash). Either way it's just preference but you shouldn't hate a game because it's not entirely like another game. You should hate it for specific reasons or you're kind of just riding a hype train.
This is coming from a hardcore smash fan so I'm biased, I'M PUMPED! It's the entire reason I will buy a wii u. Has anybody played wii u online yet? Just curios if the lag got any better...

I'm gonna assume as with regular Wii that it can be based more off of the servers that the developers of each game have setup rather than the system stuff itself (Looking back, Brawl online was absolutely atrocious but Monster Hunter Tri was wayyyyyyy better online). Only online game I have for Wii U at the moment is Monster Hunter and it pretty much runs fine for me, but it can vary depending on your own ISP (Zeta has issues staying connected sometimes)

Well I'm sure they got enough feedback to make it better...at least I hope I'm sure

Agreeing with you here bby,
Iono, in my view, creating a sequal/prequal/a new game entirely is to make something.. NEW. It's kinda like FFR vs. Stepmania. Some people thought FFR was crap because it wasn't the same as Stepmania. Because the the arrows are easier to hit on FFR, because there were no xmods, because the screen wasn't perfect like SM's was.
IMO, FFR is like brawl ina way because it's "...dumbed down..." by combos are easier to maintain, you can win via Multiplayer if you fc'd and your opponent did not(most of the time), 3 framed perfects, etc.

I like FFR; I like SM
I like Brawl; I like Melee

I wish the 3DS version didn't have black outlines for every character. I know there are supposed to be visual differences between the 3DS and the Wii U, but black outlines seem unnecessary and less clean to the eyes.

That's right, feel the burn, now you try.

That's going to be the most trolly character ever, and hilarious when using, lol.

You most definitely probably only reached a certain level of skill in melee to say that brawl is an equal for you. One who understands the sheer technicality and mastery over spacing to punish an opponent worthy of mention would never say that. In truth, very few people are ever qualified enough to make comparative statements between smash bros games in general in my experience. Basically, everyone thinks they're good at super smash bros. lol.

Brawl isn't a *horrible* game, it's just not melee. If you're as good at melee as I am at least, then you should be able to find that one niche character that enables you to pick apart an undeserving noob preying upon the nerfed mechanics giving the illusion that he has some sort of skill, because brawl is very good at doing that which in result sort of frustrates the smash bros. players who truly learned with grueling effort the technicalities of smash through melee. The thrill of a fast paced, neutral stage fox vs falco, or grueling yet chess like spacing game of a peach vs jigglypuff will never be known in brawl or the original. Brawl and the original however can be fun when you want to stroke your ego at a random party of those claiming skill.

Like brawl, this game isn't going to be melee at all. Regardless, it's always fun to stroke the ego when its a video game you're good at. I can bet that the online network will be virtually lagless in comparison to brawls failure of a network in order to win back members of the community and receive new ones. I was negative about this game at first, but I don't want to underestimate what this game might have in store for us. I'm sure the spectrum was heard regarding what people had to say about brawl. I can only hope enough was done in response to the diehard communities feelings, to create a new game altogether that makes talking trash in smash worth something again.
