Re: Songs of the Week (May 11, 2012)
Well if posts in this thread are the only reason you REALLY don't need to take them serious. If you see problems in the file/song itself and really want it to be removed then we will.

Re: Songs of the Week (May 11, 2012)
Yo Silvuh, I actually do like most of your files but that FOTBB felt so empty to me that I literally could believe if someone told me you stepped it as a skeleton and then decided you didn't feel like filling parts in later on and just sent it as was.
I don't mean any disrespect and I'm not going to whine about the file, as I understand it was meant to be an easier one. I think the main reason you're receiving so much negative feedback is because everyone was expecting a hard, accurately-stepped file similar to the song that is already in-game. Try not to let the feedback get to you, haters gonna hate. edit: also, don't mind it staying as long as the judge team/administration would be cool with a v3

Re: Songs of the Week (May 11, 2012)
Just played FOTBBv2 just to see the commotion... Although understepped, it is a great file for beginners/novice players. If Passage D [Light] isn't receiving this much dislike, I can't see why FOTBBv2 shouldn't either.
There are going to be some songs that are intentionally understepped simply for the beginner/novice population of FFR. No need to be so against the file. |

oh yeah, I wanted to drop in - I really liked FotBB v2, haha. It was great for a 7, the little blips of 16ths kept me on my toes.
Plasmatextor was fun, lost the AAA at 2450 first run, oops <_<; Coffin was tricky, a few 16th jumps with jacks connecting some 32nd bursts, but nothing too unbearable. UMAD? was great overall, my favorite of the week. Nice job, Mario. |

Re: Songs of the Week (May 11, 2012)
I don't think FotBB v2 should be taken out, I just think it deserves the difficult chart that people were expecting to go alongside it. Doesn't have to be one or the other.
Would actually make a nice skill token req, AAA v2 to get v3

Middie is just being a cock (as usual)
Why he isn't banned already is beyond me tbh

tl;dr: The part Silvuh stepped in FotBB v2 accentuates the main melody and doesn't really make sense without it; the part I stepped in Passage D [Light] is the main melody, and is a natural part of the song despite the super complex drum layered on top of it.

I think YMIA was saying, basically, "Middie, are you seriously implying that [Heavy] was bad? lol". FWIW, [Heavy] is an awesome chart.

And lol sometimes I wonder why myself. Kinda. lol And Wilson don't quit stepping. Just think more about making your patterns less aids and stop using uneeded color ****s, step shorter songs and just over all try to make it funner. Then you'd be golden. |

Re: Songs of the Week (May 11, 2012)
solid week of releases here.
plasmatextor and deep breath were both cool, well flowing fmos that make them feel less difficult because the stepping is so great. UMAD? was a fun 9, cool song and cool steps. fotbb v2 was pretty cool too, nothing wrong with it, great for more inexperienced players. coffin was probably my least favourite because the song was shit, steps weren't bad, it just wasn't too fun to play for me. |

Re: Songs of the Week (May 11, 2012)
No. If Middie hates your chart chances are he thinks there is something wrong with it or a section flat out makes no sense.
Also you mad should be a 10, I dunno who thought this was a 9. lol Last edited by Xx{Midnight}xX; 05-12-2012 at 11:59 PM.. |

Re: Songs of the Week (May 11, 2012)
When middie hates your file, that means someone whose opinion doesn't matter in the slightest hates your file
aka nothing changes at all

Re: Songs of the Week (May 11, 2012)
Making dickish comments about someone "being a dick" probably isn't going to help any, everyone's opinions matter
Anyways, FOTBB v2 was very fun for what it was, a 7. To have an easier version it needs to be watered down if the original version is frantic and has more notes. Its kinda lame to say that people don't like it because they were expecting something harder, since it's really easy to see that file isn't hard when the difficulty is right next to the name. Different versions of the same song shouldn't be similar anyways. I thought it was great. Quote:
