UNIFORM TURN In, EXCHANGE, and issue PROCEDURES
SUMMER 2007 UPPERCLASSMEN TAKE NOTE: Cadets who desire exchanges in uniform sizes or turning in uniforms may refer to the schedule below to find a time to come in to supply. Uniforms should not be left at the front office or left hanging outside the supply room. Please make sure you see a Naval Science Instructor (NSI) to ensure your uniforms are accounted for. After turn ins, you should receive a “receipt” either a copy of the custody card or copy of outstanding items that will indicate what is still listed on our computer for what you have checked out. You are liable for any uniform item not personally checked in with an NSI. The office staff will try to be helpful but they do not have all the information concerning uniforms and schedules. Uniform business is not the office staff’s job area. Uniforms are handled by the NSI’s. You should ask to talk with an NSI instead of assuming the office staff can read our minds across the parking lot in the other building! It would not hurt to call ahead and schedule an appointment, though this is not always necessary. Generally speaking a “duty” NSI will be at school to assist cadets and their families throughout the summer, Mondays through Thursdays from 0800 to 1400 (2:00 p.m.). If you are coming on your lunch time, NSI’s may also be on their lunch time, so call ahead to make sure someone will be there to help you. There are a few weeks when there will be no one available – please note the schedule below. NSI’s can fit cadets for new uniforms. Taking care of exchanges earlier in the summer will relieve the burden and stress of waiting until the last minute. Also, tailoring of uniforms, if done before the end of New Cadet Orientation Week, will be done at the unit’s cost. Any tailoring after that time will be at the cadet’s/family’s expense. Note to new incoming cadets: You will be issued uniform items during New Cadet Orientation Week. Pants will be fitted then and our tailor will hem them and have them ready the week before school starts – you will have to pick them up in time to show up the first day of school in uniform. If you cannot attend orientation week, you should come in before then to get uniform items fitted! SUMMER SCHEDULE Mondays -Thursdays HOURS 0800-1400 (consider a lunch break) Week of: 11 June - NSI’S available Monday and ½ day on Tuesday Week of: 18-21 June - Chief Kegerreis Week of: 25-28 June - Master Chief Call Week of: 2-5 July - NO NSI ON CALL – FOURTH OF JULY VACATION Week of: 9-12 July - Gunnery Sergeant Lemke Week of: 15-19 July - Boot Camp Week NO NSI ON CALL Week of: 23-26 July - Potluck – call ahead to see who will be here! Week of: 30 July-2 Aug - Commander Shumway Week of: 6-10 Aug - NEW CADET ORIENTATION WEEK No supply business will be handled on MONDAY! Incoming cadets will be issued uniforms during the week (a.m.) Tuesday through Friday Upperclassmen may come in after 1230 Tuesday thru Thursday Week of: 13-16 Aug - Senior Chief McClain Week of: 20-23 Aug - Senior Chief Williams Week of: 27-28 Aug - Various staff available 29-30 Aug - Staff Development – By appointment only! TAILORED UNIFORMS (TROUSERS/PANTS) WILL BE READY FOR PICK UP THE WEEK OF 27-30 AUGUST. UNIFORM ITEMS WILL BE STACKED ALPHABETICALLY OUTSIDE THE SUPPLY ROOM ON TABLES. CADETS/FAMILIES CAN COME IN ANYTIME THE BUILDING IS OPEN AND PICK UP THEIR CLOTHING ITEMS! YOU CAN SIMPLY PICK UP THE ITEMS – YOU DON’T NEED TO SIGN THEM OUT, SEE AN NSI, ETC. |
