petition: make RATO a stupid skill token for AAAing an 89 and make miku public

Please get rid of RATO and all Xander charts.

Still not sure why we have some of the legacy charts either. Majority of the players don't even enjoy them. I'd rather watch Tammy 5 times in a row before I try to AAA sssg again.

Have an idea since the poll is now 50-50. To satisfy both sides, just merge the first part of RATO with the second part of Miku and make it public. If you AAA that song, it would unlock Death Prianobotomy.

But yeah, RATO shouldn't count for global ranks. My opinion might change if we're introducing raw scoring though.

@ Mahou : we keep legacy files for historical reasons if I remember right. There was some threads created just to discuss that topic.

I'm 99% sure Miku will eventually be public, it's just a matter of finding a suitable file to replace it

We really need four categories instead of the current system (which only has the first 3):

1. Public files (counts for public level ranks, playable)
2. Secret/purchased files (counts for public level ranks, but has to be unlocked so not playable by new/guest accounts)
3. Token files (counts for token level ranks but not public level ranks, has to be unlocked)
4. Legacy files (shit tier Tass-era files such as RATO, DP, Crowdpleaser as well as the old offsync legacy stuff goes here. Does not count for any level rank, playable by anyone who is logged in but not by guest accounts)

Making the distinction like this, where the legacy files are hidden from guest accounts and very clearly left in the game just for novelty/historical purposes, is needed badly.

I "might" be more in favour of keeping it in the public ranks because it would be less of a mashfest. That's my issue with files above 95+ that are public. It doesn't matter if they're well made or not, new players can just mash the song to get a high combo and beat skilled players that have made a cleaner run.

I was thinking of a system like this a while back, this is definitely something that should be done.

Fcing a 95 by mashing is still hard to do and I doubt a fresh new player can do that with a song like rato.

My point is that ranks are supposed to reflect how people are ranked based on their best playthrough of that file.
