lurker aside from lose yourself to dance and instant crush the album's a lot better than get lucky

i'm like 99% sure get lucky was only made so they could release a single because it doesn't work in the album at all and honestly i'm considering just deleting it

but you should give it a shot at the very least for Contact

I can't believe I actually sat through that whole album.

The whole time I just kept telling myself, "don't worry, it'll get better, it has to!" It fucking didn't

God that was an atrocity. It'll be a huge success, but damn is that French house trendy disco crap just a steaming pile of shit.....

I fully enjoyed it. They really did take their time to make sure all the instruments could be vividly heard. A nice mix up.
Personally i love all music so this was a lovely mix of different genres. Very fresh

As a kid I listened to almost nothing but Discovery for over a year, it still holds some sick nostalgia and it pretty much defined my taste in music. Hadn't listened to Daft Punk for years before today though, didn't want to buy into too much of the hype but this album is just as good as I didn't think it'd be.

Touch is absolutely amazing, second half is god tier and teared me up first time I played it. Contact, Instant Crush, Motherboard and Giorgio by Moroder are all really really good.

My 5 cents.

imo I think the album is amazing. If anything, you can appreciate the fact that these guys a doing the music they want to do and aren't being sucked in to the whole popular dubstep/electro/omgthedrop mentality. This album is fresh, something different from the norm, and totally daft punk style. I think it's great :3

I'll admit, the very first play through, I wasnt a fan of every song, but its definitely growing on me even on the 2nd listen.

Even started a remix already :P https://soundcloud.com/djsymbiotix/daft-punk-feat-panda-bear-doin#play

My top 3 favourites so far: Lose yourself to dance, Doin' it right, Giorgio by moroder

I heard a lot of negative comments about the album so far saying it's a terrible album and other harsh comments like that, but honestly they're all the same "I don't like it cause it's not what I'm used to/what I expected from daft punk" kind of arguments. Take it for what it is. It's only bad if you have expectations of it being the next discovery which it isn't. They went a completely different direction in style, and that's not a bad thing. The only bad thing here is narrow-mindedness towards them using a different style.
That being said, personally I'm really digging the funky direction they have taken. It reminds me of 80's music/disco and I'm a sucker for that kind of music. My favorites of the album are Giorgo by Moroder, Instant Crush, Touch and Contact.

this seems like a silly generalization
did you know that some people hated disco? it's true!

Of course not everyone dislikes the album for that reason and that's cool. To each their own. But most of the comments I heard were like that. I didn't mean to generalize people's opinions like that. I'm cool with it if you dislike the music because it's not your cup of tea.
