either way i kind of like this idea

Yes. And be able to look at replays and such as well.

at the end of a song instead of the stats screen saying something like
Amazing: 456
Perfect: 229
Good: 19
Average: 1
Miss: 0
Boo: 1 million

have something like
Average: 1
Early good: 7
Early perfect: 112
Amazing: 456 etc

?

there's not enough screen real estate to do this lol

it could be done intelligently while keeping the space~ having two numbers side by side for good & perfect with a number for amazing/average/etc. aligned between them would give the same visual cue. early counter being to the left and slightly too "bright", late counter being to the right and slightly "faded" in colour

95% of the time I know whether I was early/late. The other 5% is FFR being FFR.

OMG this is an AMAZING Idea! Even more amazing: It tells you how many 1/30th of a frame you were off by!

For example, you if you toggle it on, you will get small letters underneath the AMAZING!!!/PERFECT/GOOD indicating the milliseconds or 1/30th of a frame you missed it by! It can tell you the raw accuracy of your fingertips!

PERFECT
(-3) or (-100ms) because it's 3 frames early or whatever

or:
AVERAGE
(+8) in small font next to/underneath it, or +266ms! because +8 frames late.

or:
GOOD -200ms

Or something like that. Wow.
