Re: Rename song please.
"Comptine D'un Autre Ete Techo Mix" obviously this has bothered me ever since it was entered into the database.
"Comptine D'un Autre Ete Techno Mix" Btw, if you want to translate Mou Uta Shika Kikoenai, go ahead. jx translated before, but pretty much everyone knows it by the roomaji/kana. |

Re: Rename song please.
Double Post:
OMG. I'm extremely sorry, Tasselfoot. After saying all of that stuff about respecting the artist and all that... I messed up on a song title. 画竜点睛 reads Garyuutensei. Not Garyoutensei. Ryuu=dragon. I'm extremely sorry. I'm embarrassed myself. I realized when I was making the Xi pack for my Amateur Artist thread... I think I mixed it up because the initial mistake was Garyo. The o must've rubbed off in my head. I'm extremely sorry. Again, I'm extremely sorry. I hope you are kind enough to change the name again...

Re: Rename song please.
As for Naisyaodakunyan, it does become Nai Xiao De Gu Niang. However, without the accents I can't really do it correctly. Still, both translations don't make sense.
Nai = Milk (if there is another word that can be from nai, I doubt that it's the case since in the song the way they sing it makes it sound like the word for milk) Xiao = Small or smile; I don't know since the accents aren't present but I do think it's the former by the way it's sung. De = possession (works the same way as the no particle) Gu Niang = (young) Girl So basically Milk Small pretty much doesn't make sense unless you make it xiao nai but then again girl of small milk doesn't make much sense either but uhhh its mosaic.wav so who knows they could mean uhhhhhhhhhhhh O______o I don't really think having translations as the song title is a good idea (if that's what you guys are planning to do; I haven't read everything)...having the roomaji as the original or even better actual characters are better IMO. I think a better idea though is to have like a translation: blsafasdga in the song info in the game haha *edit* I just checked up on MOSAIC.WAV's website and it's literally, word for word, " (young) Girl of Milk Small" which really does not make any sense. Also, it really should be Naishaodakunyan since it's stated as ないしゃおだくーにゃん *edit 2* I browsed around again and I see it being called 側偄偟傖偍偩偔乕偵傖傫 which uhhh pretty much makes no sense whatsoever

Re: Rename song please.
well, I need to help this I guess.
Ascii Art Core = PC letter graphics + Core Kire Kire Mayoi = Touhou translation of Hare Hare Yukai Naisyaodakunyan = A girl with small tits = 奶小的姑娘 Tougenkyou = Chinese heaven = 桃源郷 btw Tougenkyou should be "Tougenkyou -H.E.Remix-", so please fix. Last edited by jimerax; 04-24-2008 at 11:36 AM.. |

Re: Rename song please.
i'd feel weird changing love coloured master spark to something completely different. people would be confused as all hell. song's been in-game for 6 months now.
what is the issue with it? i don't follow when you go into japanese mode.

The current title is nowhere near the actual song title. The current title is the name of ZUN's original song. The changed title is the name of the LUV2 remix in romaji. Jimerax pmd me that Koiiro! Shissou Mahchin! in romaji would be better than translated into English. Resolution: Change Love Coloured Master Spark with Koiiro! Shissou Mahchin! This is the correct title in both jimerax's and my point of view. As for people getting confused... I see no way of circumventing it. If necessary, make news of it? OR, just leave it be and hope there will never be an issue with LUV2... which I don't strongly suggest. Haha, if jimerax doesn't mind, I want to learn better Japanese. lol. Never received corrected education. I got to the point of being able to speak, read, write, both formally/colloquially from initial parental education and everything else from manga/anime/video games. So my knowledge is lopsided.

Re: Rename song please.
I don't understand the desire to rename all of these songs from one language to another. Correcting any mistakes in the name is one thing, but completely translating it is another. It's going to be really hard to find anything now.

Re: Rename song please.
Agree 100%. If anything, I think keeping the japanese names help to identify certain songs and are interesting. As it is, I can easily tell when something is jpop-ish and whether I want to play a song like that at the moment or not.

Re: Rename song please.
The song's already in English and said song is the correct name anyway, just a remixed version. Might as well just add (LUV2 remix) to the end of the song so that the players know what the song is. (Like I said before, if you abruptly change it straight into romanized japanese like that, the users will get confused. Not everyone knows how to speak japanese).
