Re: Is the Microsoft Zune better than the Apple iPod?
Well... Apple WILL get crushed by Microsoft. No way to stop it. They're just delaying it...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zune Sales were not terrible, but the heavy marketing failed to launch Zune as a genuine threat to the iPod.[51] A survey of 40 retailers conducted by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster found only 8% of the salespeople recommended Zune, far less than the 75% who recommended the iPod, and that most of the salespeople did not even know what Zune was or who made it.[52] During its launch week, the Zune was the second-most-sold player with a 9% unit share of portable media devices; far behind the market-leading iPod's 63%.[53] Also, in the same week, according to hourly updated data on online retailer Amazon.com site,[54] the most popular Zune model (the black one) was ranked "7 out of 10" on the "top 10 best-selling MP3 players list" compared to a number of competing products on launch week by analysis from Munster.[55] For the holiday shopping month of December 2006, the Zune captured 12% of drive-based player market according to market research firm Current Analysis but did not earn top 10 spot against Apple Computer and Sandisk in overall sales, tracking sales from "Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, Staples and RadioShack" but doesn't include many other outlets such as Wal-Mart and Apple Computer stores.[56] Another analysis by NPD Group, retail market researching group, revealed that Zune showed 10.2% unit share for hard drive music player market, figures from Microsoft themselves.[57] For the month of January 2007, Microsoft was third ranked in the MP3 category with 3.2% unit share followed by Sandisk's 8.9% and Apple Computer's 72.7% for "top retail computer hardware sales" according to NPD Group.[58][59] Another analysis of NPD Group data revealed that Zune showed 9.9% unit share for hard drive music player market, figures from Microsoft themselves.[57] For the month of February 2007, the Zune showed 8.7% share for hard-drive based portable music players in the United States according to numbers by NPD Group, figures from Microsoft themselves.[60][61] For the month of April 2007, as of April 12, 2007, according to hourly updated data on online retailer Amazon.com site,[62] the most popular Zune model (the black one) ranks #12, behind 7 iPod models, 2 SanDisk players and the Toshiba Gigabeat in the MP3 Players category; other models (white, brown and pink) have much lower sales. Yeah, Microsoft is really going to crush Apple anytime soon. GG.

All that is just because the iPod came out first.

I don't own either. But from what my friends (whom have both) think, they think the Zune is much better.

Re: Is the Microsoft Zune better than the Apple iPod?
Anythings better than an ipod...they're just well marketed peices of crap not to mention you can't plug them into a wall switch so if your on vacation when its out your ****ed. Also you have to use itunes which is a peice of crap. There are MUCH better mp3's out there.

Nah ipod, is not crap. Maybe a little overpriced but at least it delivers what it promises with satisfaction, Unlike Bose, which is a marketing scam.

Angel, all you are doing is talking out of your ass. You have no evidence to back up your claims and all of your "evidence" is nothing but speculation and wishful thinking. Whether or not you believe Zune is better than iPod, the fact remains that Zune's sales are nowhere near iPod's and won't be for a while.

I go with the Apple ipod because there is an 80GB ipod that holds over 25 thousand songs.

I have a 30GB iPod video and I only have about 3,000 songs on it at the moment with about 20 videos. The little bitch still isn't full yet and it still gives me crystal clear quality when I play my songs and movies. Awesome.

Re: Is the Microsoft Zune better than the Apple iPod?
I'm going to have to say Apple iPod.
I got a blue nano for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Perfect sound quality and a wonderful screen. Also many other options (although it lacks a calculator, only flaw) Seriously, for $199 you can get 1,000 songs and 10,000 photos with room to spare. Well worth the investment.
