Just another crappy sequal trying to squeeze some more money out of a franchise.
It'll probably be better than the average movie these days, though.

I saw the (original) Japanese version two years ago. Wasn't scary. Overall, a bleh movie. Maybe the American remake with be better (ha...yeah, right).

People always jump on the bandwagon and say "The japanese version is a lot better." to seem cool and such. Not saying you're like that Jewpin =P
The Ring was scarier and better than Ringu IMO because special effects scare me. People say "It's the old movies that are the scariest." And I think, "Yeah, that ketchup on that guys arm scared the shit out of me." |

RE: ...
Some really scary movies have little too no special effects. Because it is what is most scary is the unknown. More important that special effects is atmosphere, but the hot shots in Holywood have seemed to have forgotten that.

RE: ...
i found them rather stupid, there have been very few GOOD scary movies...
Saw wasnt scary, but that was a mindblowing storyline The Dawn Of The Dead Remake was killer, but i am dying to see a concrete ending... There is this one..i belive its called motel hell..(80s), where like people eat here all the time because the meat is soo good, but its acutally humans, that have been like seasoned and stuff...that was a classic |

The first one sucked. Ringu was great..and it was just one movie. There is no need for a sequel....it will suck.

I didnt find anything spectacular about Ringu. I saw it...forgot about it. The End. I have no idea how it got so big in Japan....I mean, 5 movies, a TV series, comics, books, etc. True, it's storyline was original, but it was brought to America it was a cash-cow in Japan, and would probably be a cash cow in the States too.
In case you are wondering, I thought the American version was better...because they kill a horse and it was hilarious...yet slighty disturbing. |
