I'd like to say something about this list but tbh I spent most of 2010 immersed in post-rock so what would I know haha (I did listen to the National album a while back although iirc I wasn't terribly fond of it)

The Janelle Monae album was amazing, so many incredible songs. Tightrope is pop gold

The Books album is probably the best I've heard from them; favorite track(s) were probably Group Autogenics I/II

i always considered the books an interesting concept that never really paid off in album form (see them live, however; they're hilarious). too much stuff that just doesnt work as "songs"; maybe as audiovisual projects.

but the way out was great. has their quirky humour but they definitely improved their songwriting. "chain of missing links" is my favorite, second is "i didn't know that".

@your list: the four tet album is pretty great, but the first two songs and the last one imo are notably better than the rest and showed the AMAZING album it could have been. still good. i prefer gold panda - lucky shiner (pretty similar sonically).

im not too huge a fan of the suburbs but two of the songs are some of the best of the year: 'empty room' and 'sprawl II'.

i love dear science. like, every song on it.

i LOVE that mew album; was addicted to it when it came out. i listen to it a lot less now but still.

If this was my list, Sufjan Stevens would be higher up. I really enjoyed The Age Of Adz haha.

i liked it but i felt like he was more going for the most he could do rather than the best. this led to some FANTASTIC songs (the title track in particular) but also some bloated ones.
