Are you sure you're listening to real screamo (i.e. the bands that were mentioned earlier in this thread?)

Screamo and emo are two very confused genres. Screamo is often confused for post-hardcore, such as Underoath, The Used, Alexisonfire, Alesana, Senses Fail, Escape the Fate, Silverstein, and blessthefall. As evidence how "confused" this genre is, I took every one of those artists from the "Top Artists" for the screamo tag on last.fm. However, the Wiki for the screamo tag is very accurate.
http://www.last.fm/tag/screamo/wiki

As for emo, the "Top Artists" are all just pop-rock (Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, etc.) but the Wiki page is also accurate.
http://www.last.fm/tag/emo/wiki

The easy way for me to explain emo and screamo is that they are PUNK ROCK. By punk rock standards, if you have a recording contract with Sony, have albums on shelves at Best Buy, and most of the venues you play at have stages, you're not a punk rock band. That can be said for screamo and emo, since they are sub-genres of punk.

I think it's also safe to say that most real emo music has simply evolved into math-rock, and is often just confused for indie.

PS sup Starshot hang out with my sister lately?

Oh, well search for Burial then.
I guess people call it dubstep, but I find it just ambient. I really think you'd enjoy it. You MIGHT like "Liquid Stranger - We Meet at Last" as well.

OH HOLY **** AHAHAHAHAHAH

Alden, it's been far too long. No, I haven't, as she's been down in Corpus Christi and I've rarely spoken with her in a couple of years. Hit me up sometime, we need to catch up.

I'm assuming you've already downloaded the thus-far completed works of Tycho. If not, then that's why I'm posting this

Well I LOVE dubstep. I'm into the HARDCORE filthy stuff

Try searching for FuntCase (Takin the Piss), Widelows (DogPound), Skrillex (Scatta, ft. Bare Noize and Foreign Beggars), Tomba (Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique VIP), Biome (Rusty Badge), Culprate (Trench Foot), Dextron (This is Crack), Vista & Presence Known (Cataclysm), Torqux & Twist (Dubstep Hotline), Borgore (Act Like a Ho), Tag (Beast VIP), Banana Bomber (Disgusting), Camel Orgasm (Power Tools), D-Jahsta (Locomotion), C-IV (Give Me A What), Vylex (Carbine [unreleased, preview is by Zero on YouTube], Downlink (Ignition), Bare Noize (Plant Food, Level 67 (Fist****er), Bratkilla (Bratbutcher), 16Bit (Skullcrack), Diesel (Inspectooor)... and sooo many more xD

Brackets are songs recommended for that authour
May I add to this list a few of my faves:

Bar 9 (Distant Roots, Shaolin Style, Murda Sound, Piano Tune etc)
Doctor P (Badman Sound, Sweet Shop, Vampire Dub & any of his remixes)
Roksonix [Empire (- my favorite dubstep tune atm), Voscillate (Roksonix Remix)]
Excision & Datsik (Swagga, Invaders)
Numbernin6 [Absolve / Nebulous / Leaving, Breathe (Numbernin6 remix)]

Check em out and enjoy it, all artists here have their extreme distinct sounds.

Few personal favorites from this week:
Tek-One: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDpCQ437bsE
JFB: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXdVnDVjSL8 (This one is someone scratching over dubstep beats, sounds ****ING ORGASMIC)
Amtrak: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4WCGBshmFA
And anything Borgore or Skrillex (I'm really digging his sound) is good.

Haha, this is the first song I heard by JFB:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3cb0RHkPyA

When I was introduced to dubstep (via some mixtape I got off of what called Reso In Da Mix,) a lot of it was heavy into turntablism.

Edit: Joining the dubstep bandwagon, Roksonix did a good job remixing Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek" (MMMMMMMMMMMMMM, WHATCHA SAAAAAY), you guys who like Dubstep should check it out.

Edit II: No love for The Others?

D-Block and S-Te-Fan's Music Made Addictz is currently one of my favorite hardstyle albums on the market. The opening melody to The Human Soul still remains firmly jammed in my head.

Takanka runs the boarder between hardstyle and jumpstyle far too much for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I like tunes that mix the genres (IE: Scooter's "See You Smile,") but I just don't like the stuff he does.

I don't like how the Beholder or DJ Zany mix their drums. Too much kick, not enough tone. If I want raw kick, I'd listen to gabber (which I do on a regular basis, mind you)

I thought Del Tha Funkee Homosapien was only a "Gorillaz creation", not a real artist. That's good.

By the way:

Food For Animals
Antipop Consortium
Gravediggaz
Slick Rick
k-the-i???
Thavius Beck
Lab Waste
Cadence Weapon
Keith Murray
Chingy (Yeah, I like his music)
Keith Murray

And so on.

No, Del has been around since before The Gorillaz, I think. He just has several different pen names, such as Deltron 3000. He's also one of the lead members of the group Hieroglyphics, which kind of reminds me of The Wu-Tang Clan, but only because they're rap groups with 5+ members.

I've been on an Atmosphere/El-P/Cannibal Ox/De La Soul kick these past few days.

Speaking of Hieroglyphics, anybody know any good rappers that tend to favor smooth jazzy beats like they do? The Mushroom Jazz mixes by Mark Farina come to mind, I remember Chali 2na being on one of the tracks in one of the albums.
