Default Inglourious Basterds

No threads? Seriously?

Oh well, I just got back from the movies with a few of my mates and we all really enjoyed it. Very Quentin Tarantino-esque if you know what I mean.

Anyone else seen it? If so, thoughts?

Funny how a movie directed and written by Quentin tarantino would be Quentin Tarantino-esque.

I can see how that would be a valid complaint regardless, especially due to the length of this movie in particular. I know complaints about the slowmotion in Watchmen still seem valid to me, even if it was pretty much guaranteed after seeing how Snyder handled 300.

And speaking of the length, I had heard that TWC wanted to cut it down from Tarantino's first cut that premiered at Cannes earlier this year. Did it end up getting cut, or is the cut showing up in theaters today the same length as the original cut?

EDIT: "angles and the like"? You think the man's signature is "angles and the like"? Take a look at Death Proof. Number one example of the man's take on filmmaking. It's not identifiable as HIS because of angles, it's his style for gratuitous violence and overly-talky dialogue.

Haven't seen Death Proof so can't comment on that, but the ear cutting scene in Reservoir Dogs is

Got given 5/5 just now by the Film Critic on Englands biggest radio station and he is pretty harsh.

Looked it up:

Harvey Weinstein apparently denied all claims that TWC was going to force a shorter cut of the film, but I find that hard to believe. TWC has a long history of ****ing with cinematic works.

And in fact, the release coming out today is more complete than the version at Cannes, apparently to the tune of a minute added to the runtime.

From the commercials I couldn't tell if it was a comedy or not. Is this a serious movie? It looks really corny.

This is what's going through my mind. I like my movies to be purely comedic or purely dramatic...not any combination of the two.

It is a drama, but there is dark humor in the movie too. I actually liked the movie a lot and would highly recommend it.

I walked into it thinking it would be meh...IT WAS ****ING AMAZING. I don't know how you could make the ending any more bad ass...like holy ****. You can't do it in a plausible way cause you would need god damn ninjas to do it. FUUUUUUUUUUUUU. I can so see them doing a parody on it though cause Jesus Christ that was so god damn intense @_@.@justaguy: Right... I'm the idiot here. Reading comprehension isn't your greatest skill, is it?
